Wow Susan, sounds like it was a right laugh on your cruise and glad you enjoyed it, great about the giraffes. So sorry to hear about stepson's baby and hope he pulls through, so tiny, bless him.

Still seem to be living in limbo here, been like it since the snow. OH has gone on nights again. YD has come back home and we had a nice night playing on the PS3 last night. Got grandchildren coming this evening for a bit. Still dying to get back to some sewing, its bit warmer today but with OH being asleep thats out the window until at lest Tuesday and got the new sofa coming then.

I picked up four lovely little china mugs (child size) in our local garden centre yesterday reduced to £2.49. They have lovely nostalgic children's scenes on them so I'm going to keep two here for little visitors to use and then I'm going to fill the other two with mini-eggs or similar and give them to my little grandaughters for Easter.

I also got two lovely Christmas tree decs reduced to £1 for the two and two lovely canvas type holders with a jar of real ale chutney in them (ok til 2014 so all good there) and a wooden spoon/server thing - 75% off - reuced from £10.99 to £2 something so bought two - one for brother in law and one for son in law - just not sure if for extra birthday pressie or 'tree' pressie at Christmas.

Only went in for a hot chocolate while very very dirty car was being cleaned and ended up spending £23! Not sure if that was MSE or not :rotfl:
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

peppaPig - Love that - only went for a hot choc"... def a 10/10, but with those bargains there brill, esp the chutney sets as there rare to find reduced. Weve had a busy weekend, and haven't left the house!! Miss Hoodie has been keeping me busy with her crafting.Yesterday we painted mugs, coasters, dishes, and plates - all been done with a personal touch. if you'd have seen me trying to trace a outline of a camel off the computer then remembering (from 30 yrs ago) how to get the right side by retracing the item.......
One friend - plate - Camel in middle, around side, yellow taxi, catus, 1 dinar coin, glass of wine, - remind her of Tunisia.

her 1 daughter - mug - one side got drawing of tube of mascara, the other glass of wine... matching coaster

daughters b/f - mug and coaster - bmw logo and bottle of lager.......

Then today - we painted 4 cupcake tealight holders, and 12 wooden angels on sticks - bookmarks there now drying, the dining room looks a cross between a chinese laundry and a craft workshop x (or junk shop if dad had his way!!) x
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

susan - welcome home!! Oh dear re: your cruise! But you definitely went about enjoying yourself the right way!! Especially somewhere like that we're you're pretty much stuck!! lol Where did you feed the giraffes?
Sending loads of love and luck to the little one. That's VERY early, but there's always hope!

Ok ladies, what other ways can I make money?? Any suggestions at all (that I may not have thought of! lol)?

I did dooyoo for a while but I haven't really got time. I do valued ops, newvista, and pinecone (although not had one from them for ages!). I'm up for selling on ebay and car boot sales, but it's difficult to spot what I could sell, especially as we had a major sort out in the autumn (which resulted in a great car boot revenue!). I would love to do craft fairs but I don't think I have time (what with working full time, doing murder mysteries and avon) to go out to them. I'm looking at etsy but don't know anything about it...or what to make!! I'm a bit of a jack of all trades where crafty stuff is concerned, and master of none! lol

There aren't enough hours in the day!!!!!!

I sell on Folksy but its a bit slow, lucky if I get one sale a month but then that might just be the things I sell. I have just booked some craft fairs for the year. Have about one a month coming up from March. Have another two I would like to book but need to get the deposits together first

been very quiet in here today is everyone crafting and wrapping?

i decided as the heating had broken and the house really couldnt get any colder today was as good a day as any to take miss hoodies challenge up and defrost the freezer so i spent the morning risking frostbite to thaw it out and see what was lurking.
i now have a lovely frost free freezer that is minus a bag of weird looking carrots with freezer burn a couple of bendy parsnips and a couple of ice lollies that at some point had melted and refrozen as they were bags of squash with separate sticks laying on the top.

added bonus i now also have a working boiler so heating and hot running water
