Yes, I hope things settle but.....maybe not. If the school is one still 'run' by the LEA that's the next place to take your concerns. Legally the School Governors are responsible (even if they kowtow to the head.)
sadly in everything there are always the moaners who go on and on but do zero, zilch.... and the ones who are proactive and complain vigorously.
Don't let the bullying escalate. The rest of the academic year plus next year is a loooong time for a child.
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Good to hear you're pushing ahead with this to get it sorted, your daughter's lucky she has a Mum who has the dangly bits to do something about it and it sounds like she also has the strength to handle the situation well
In the weekly email section there's a bodyshop code for free delivery over £5 and 40% off all items including sale. I just took full advantage and ticked a few more christmas pressies and birthdays off the list. I don't know where I'm going to store all this stuff until Christmas!

Just a heads up if anyone's passing a Clintons/Birthdays, they're selling cards now at 10 for £1. I got valentines card, BFs Christmas card, birthday cards, wedding cards all for 10p each. Lovely quality and would've cost at least £3.50 each before.

The shop assistants looked a bit glum though, presumably about their impending job losses. :(

mum2one - good on Miss Hoodie. You need to make sure she reads all these messages. She's amazing for standing up to that bully. Seriously, outstanding and amazing.

With regards to the CCTV - one battle at a time! lol It might be useless and only show outside the changing room anyway.

Why on earth does he have an influence on which school she's in? Is it a court thing?? What did the solicitors say today?

On another subject, how's the snow situation? OH and I had a dodgy evening last night driving back from the theatre. I didn't get home - decided to stop at my parents (half way!) seeing as DD was there anyway. OH decided to try and get home (work related stuff up there that he needed today!) but ended up not getting home until 3am after an 8 mile walk!! Looking better today and we should all be back in our own house tonight barring any major problems! So hoping you're all safe and sound!

agree about the CCTV, my DS school has it in the toilets NOT in the cubicles but its aimed at the handwashing area as that can be an unsupervised area where problems can occur and the the design of the toilets is open plan. the cubicles all hav doors that open towards the back wall but the actual hand washing area is open to the corridor so any one walking by can see if anyone is messing about in there. it has never caused any problems and as a result the toilets are much cleaner with no paper thrown about or wet paper pellets tossed at the ceiling.

re the snow (east mids) wasn't predicted here but overnight and most of the morning we had snow that settled on top of what we already had, adding another 2cm (ish) about an hour ago it started again flakes are getting steadily bigger

    stay safe all

A day of good news..... (bar 1 event!!)

Everything went ok at school today.

My bottle toffee vodka and other bottle mars bar vodka are dissolving well

Now have my new car taxed - so going to venture out at weekend for ride.

Booked tickets to see Soliders taking mum (my excuse its her mothers day present) very mse as £22 ticket, but we get bogof - shes in love with the soliders. There not too bad either!! was very jealous as friend of mine she worked out at Naffi in germany 18mths ago and one of the blokes was stationed out there and they would sing in pub.....

Touch wood - weve had a bit of snow today - the main roads are clean, just the side roads, weve had abut 6ins snow, the local weather theyve said its rain at weekend, forecast minus 7 2ngt thou.

I look less like rudolph!! and got up dressed and went and sorted car tax.

    But the bad event........
5am this morning, our neighbours decided to have a massive wham bang of an argument - police were on scene within 4 mins.......Nice wake up call.

    ---
The court when they put the order in last yr, any changes I make to Miss Hoodies life he has to agree on, I can change dentist or doctors, but not schools, - he got it into his solicitors head that once i got free reign I would move down to Devon with Miss hoodie, coz we usually go 3 or 4 times a yr, got friends down there! so they put that clause in, Thou he hasn't got parental responsibilityand can't get any info from school.

The soliciotor was great bless him, - if we go in now it gives his lordship chance to say whoops, and come up with 1001 excuses, - but if we wait till 12 mths then he can't come up with 1001 excuses, (only got 5 mths to go) and we can apply for a variance order.

You all need a large drink after that.......xxxx

    Santas Challenge - January

Its that time of the month, the nice time!! or maybe the dreaded time as it means Miss Hoodie has been let loose with a cleaning challenge!!

A big welcome as its our 1st challenge of the new year. It may look a lot but as always treat it like a pick and mix, its more an organisation month.

    =Money=
I'm sure like me Jan is the month where money goes out of our purses like money, but hopefully we have been able to buy some bargains ready for 2013 gifts. Use this month - to balance and plan Feb's money, - the only celebration I can think is Valentines day (cheap day for me!!), but as one of our lovely ladies mentioned Birthdays/Clintons have reduced cards so may be worth a look.

Anyone who wants to do a money challenge - set yourself a target of money you want to make in Feb, whether that be saving loose change, doing a car boot (or nice indoor version), clearing out any broken gold (I was told last week that gold is £10 a gram - top price at the mo).

    Sale Bargains
I know we are a brilliant bunch of ladies, and gentleman just reading how many fab gifts we've all got, and how much we saved, (thank you Boots love 75% day!!).
Yes, we're brilliant:D and brought it, now the hard bit -
Have we allcated it to the right person
Have we got somewhere safe to put it
Most of all - don't feel guilty if you give a reduced set eg Dove set was £15, 75% off £3.75 - but to us its still a £15 gift.;)

    Lists
More of a just follow through with a check up, as well as Birthday and Xmas, you may have mothers day, fathers day, presents for the teacher when your child leaves the year, Christenings, Weddings, (would say engagements, but we got to have some element of surprise), make sure you have these listed down.

When you've checked your lists, double checked budgets, if you to update everyone with your new totals, pop it n the thread. I bet even if you think i've only really think i've got 1 person sorted, penny to the pound - your be more organised. As we can't really shout from the roof tops I've got this sorted for xmas - your among friends here

    Organise the House
Gentler than it sounds I promise!! New Year, new diary, generally the 1st couple weeks are get organised, but look at any service agreements, car ins, car tax, house ins etc, make sure your getting your moneys worth, and you know renewal dates, so if you do need to research for a better deal your be prepared first.

Prescription / Over the counter / first aid kit.
I know we were super organised before xmas getting our prescriptions organised, but nows the time to check whether we've run out of any mediciations, running low, thinking more with the weather, I know different parts of the country are affected differently, - but if we have a heavy snowfall - we could be stuck.

If you needed to use any other items over xmas, (hopefully not), but pop on the shopping list to be replaced - plasters/paracetamol/the runs tablets...

Miss Hoodies Corner - Do we love it, do we hate it!!! its here...
Its the freezer - Bless her heart I did try to suggest that its a cold jump and not quite the right time, - her answer was!! while if its cold outside your not going to get much colder in the freezer, and don't forget most people will have eat over Christmas - the turkey had to be stored somewhere- so really i couldn't answer that one. So we have the freezer.

Those lucky ladies with frost free freezers, I envy you!! I guess she is right:mad: as we all stocked up for Christmas - but she wants to know the oddest thing you find in the freezer, whether its something that is way out of date, something you can't identify, or you found some mince pies you'd forgot about.

    Me Time
Espically after doing the freezer I think we need a me treat, - it doesn't have to be expensive, - it could be an hour with the remote control, a bubble bath with a do not disturb, or even saying right I finishing the cross stitch.

    Try Something New!!
I'm leaving this totally up to yourselves, - it could be a recipie, it could be you have a go at making something crafty you have never done, not too sure about skinny dipping... not sure what would get frost bite...

Make sure you all wrap and warm and take care with this cold spell. xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

*Ahem*, men too :D (Well at least I'm one man, any more to make it plural?!)

Yes believe it or not us blokes like to save too!

But seriously good point about the treating gifts at full price. Just because we know it's 75% off others don't - or even if they do (in my case) they will say 'good on you' There is absolutely no need to rush out and buy something else just to bring it up to a certain amount, that's not very money saving is it?!

Got 13 gifts in Boots sale (£42 in total down from £168) and £22 of that was paid for by points :T so 2013 stock is well and truly underway and assigned as well. Mostly because I'd hate to give the same gift to someone for their birthday AND Xmas lol

The extended family has agreed to do homemade gifts this year - aunts, uncles, cousins etc so will have to get my thinking cap on as to what to make. As a bloke i'm nowhere as crafty as you ladies with your needles and thread and wool! But I'm sure there is something out there for me to do.

Don't forget, if you are planning on making purchases on the high street, consider buying gift vouchers from Argos before Feb 14 as they have an offer on at the moment for 2x £10 gift vouchers for £15 or 2x £20 for £30 (I got sister Next vouchers) for her birthday. This way it's an easy way to get 25% off if you are buying them something or if they want the gift cards you get more for your money. I wouldn't recommend saving them for Xmas to be on the safe side - look at HMV - but if you are going to spend/give them in the near future then it may be worth it
28/04/11 - A bad day for shoppers everywhere (Tesco shoppers that is!) RIP DTD :A
