mrs moneypenny - those cross stitches are absolutly beautiful, youve got a brillaint talent.

rufus - hows your daughter getting on, how far gone is she?

Angela - still haven't got to try Mr Kipling, been in bed with this cold, it just literally floored me this morning, got up at 6pm and crashed out on settee with the dog.
Got no idea where she got the name from, I do sometimes wonder about my daughter!!

Ladies - Can I rack your brains, - we've got probs at school with this one lovely girl, its been going on for yrs she works her way through bullying different kids in the class, today - PE - the girls get changed in the cloakroom, this lovely girl had one of the other kids pinned up against the wall with her hands round her neck (not the 1st time shes done that, - the 1st time she did it, the victims mum pulled her daughter out of the school), DD told her to stop it, she called DD stupid, among other things, - DD told the teacher and all he did was take 10 mins off "golden time" (the kids can do what they want), - now 2ngt Miss Hoodie is feeling sick, has stomach ache, got a headache, but was ok to bed time, and shes gone to bed clutching a cushion for comfort,

It seems like the school not interested in doing anything productive, they have all these anti-bullying policies - but it seems to be a paper exercise. I know the girls got probs at home, but you can't keep making allowances for that. Everything that Miss Hoodie has been through - shes not a bully.

We were hoping the school is going to be closed 2mor from the snow, as the 2 other schools within 2 mins of ours closed 2day coz of the snow. We've had more snow 2day, but knowing the head he'll keep it open.

Sorry to babble, just feel like I'm up the creek without a paddle. xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

    morning all

my heart really does go out to miss hoodie, it was so very brave of her to stand up for this other girl, hopefully others will be inspired by her actions to do the same. (But sadly most turn a blind eye and just feel grateful its not them) can she not talk to the girl who was being attacked and both go to a teacher that they think will listen. or could you and the other girls parents write to the school noting that you are both aware of the incident (send copy letters to the head of the board of governors and mention you are doing that in your letters)
hopefully you will get your snow day to put a bit of space between the incident and them meeting up again. BUT it is important that if anything is said or done to miss hoodie she knows she MUST report it straight away or yell out and make a huge fuss while its happening.

    hugs to you both.

I agree with Mrs Moneypennny, the school need to know that parents are not happy with what is going on and the governors need to know about it too. Do you know the girls parents? If not may be just write a letter saying its making you daughter ill worrying about it and pointing out you are not happy.

As for my YD, she is nearly 7 wks gone, lot of probs to sort out family wise. Dont want to go into it on here where its up for anybody to read but meeting her and bf tomorrow to see what can be sorted.
  • hope things go well for you tomorrow rufus, families can be so difficult to sort out cant they. hugs

Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Mrs hoodie - I hope your daughter is feeling ok about it now, I for one know that bullying should not be taken lightly and that it can affect kids right into adulthood. Hopefully things have been resolved with the school.

And Rufusdog, I also hope you manage to sort out your family things.

So much has happened to me (good and bad) already this year, and we're only a few weeks into January. I think there must be something in the water!

Still I've managed to get a few Christmas bargains. Went into my local boots and there was nothing left apart from this one Dove set, reduced from £15 to £3.75! That's most of my grandmas present sorted. i have a feeling it had just been put out onto the shelf and I was in the right place at the right time :j

I also got 2 lovely Christmas necklaces and a bracelet from Dorothy Perkins, reduced from £6.50 to £1 each, and a bracelet for the same. They're on lovely little "vintage style" card backs and are fantastic for presents, just need to allocate them.

I got 3 rolls of xmas wrapping paper from Clintons at 30p each. Valentines wrapping paper for 20p a sheet, and a valentines bear reduced from £10 to £5. Oh, and a boxed wedding card for my friends wedding reduced from £5 to £1. It's not for 18 months but you can't argue with prices like that :rotfl:

    Very briefly re: bullying.
If the school has an anti- bullying policy then they should be adhering to it. Ask what action has been taken.
Request a meeting with HT & class teacher (or who ever was in charge at the time)
Write a letter to HT & Governors explaining the problem and ask how it is being resolved
Sorry, but become a pest....do NOT stand by.......If the school takes no action and you don't either they think (wrongly) that the situation has been resolved.

Last resort....look to moving your daughter to another school.... and make it clear why.

Mum2one - am really sorry about the bullying issue - I don't have children or any experience with dealing with bullies so can't help. ... I do, however, send you virtual hugs and positive thoughts for you both for tomorrow.

Well, the birthday cards are now all written and everything is falling into place for January. Starting to think about February and Valentine's Day - only from a meal planning point of view though as we rarely exchange cards or gifts. :) I am plugging away at my cross stitch and am planning to turn this current project and the one I've already finished into a pair of small cushions. I am planning them to be a gift but ... I know I'll get too attached to them and end up keeping them! Must find some nice patterns to gift this year. :)

Thank you everyone, I really thought I was making mountain out of a molehill, a bit of an update, rang the school this afternoon, spoke to the secetary, bless her heart shes a star, shes the inbetween contact for everything going on. She said the office wasn't aware of the incident nor the headmaster, (what a surprirse), but shes going to look at the cctv - next question yes to cctv but not happy that there are cameras where girls of 10 and 11 get changed - cctv screen in office, - any parents, delievery driver or visitor could easily see the screen.

Shes going to look at cctv and speak to the teacher, (authority wise he's deputy head), and the head and get it looked in to and dealt with.

We know the other parents who the girl bullies, but unfortunatly at that school 99% of the parents will moan like hell on the playground, but when push comes to shove and its time to go to the next step, the only ones standing are me, its the same at the "meet the head /question and answer time" at start of every term.

I wish I could change schools, but unfortunatly I have to ask permission of the absent sperm donor, who has never clapped eyes on his daughter in 10 yrs. So shes stuck there, shes got rest of this yr and 1 yr left. Know the teacher next yr (unless she gets a better job), would come down like this like a ton of hot bricks, - even if we moved schools there end up same secondary school.

as for the govenerors, - hense I was one for only 18 mths / 3yr term, what the head saids is law!!! they won't go against. They don't like me as I will see things through by what ever means necessary (one parent now has an harresment order against them!!).

Told Miss Hoodie to stay away from little miss trouble, - she tried causing probs today, as she had been given "duty" to hand out dinner choices, she gave Miss Hoodie the wrong one, - luckly she checked and said to teacher - been given wrong choice - when teacher asked if anyone else had wrong card - no just Miss Hoodie.

Have passed on the shout loudly, make a fuss and be a drama queen, shes asked could she ask her friend for lessons in being a drama queen!!

I have been proactive and rang solicitors to see if can get court order stopped - sperm donor breached it 6 times since June! left message with his secetary and hopefully he will get back to me tomorrow.

    ---
Digressing completely - it may not be appliable to anyone here, but it may be to a friend or relative. The just of it, - legal aid being changed in April in relation to family courts, it looks like they won't pay for a solicitor unless domestic violence has been involved and been reported / prosecuted by the police. When I spoke to my solicitors secetary, shes aware its changing in April, but doesn't know whether existing cases will still get legal aid. xx

On the good news, things were ok at school 2day.
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
