I couldn't sleep last night/this morning, and listening to World Service on earphone (while OH slept peacefully) heard programme Click, which was about 'Life logging', latest term for recording your life - of course they were talking about computer technology-based records, but paper lists and diaries also count I'm sure.
I was fascinated by thought that earliest form was cave painting, so we are keeping up a tradition started by earliest Homo Sapiens killing mammoth and recording it in her larder diary on the wall of her home cave.

Oh can I join this please. I love making lists and have a few notebooks on the go :T
We did actually buy a A4 spiral bound notebook with page dividers reduced in Asda but neither of us knew what we would use it for really.
Now I can use it for this :j
I have a spreadsheets on the laptop for meal planning, grocery spend breakdown and physio, but there are days I just don't fancy going on laptop or times when O/h is on it so this will be perfect for me.
Also I have bought a new diary as I do every year only this one has a separate not book in the back with all different coloured pages in which has now become my Christmas and birthday gifts list, listing previous presents and ideas.
I have tried downloading all kinds of apps to my phone but to be honest its easier just to write it down rather than fill in on a phone(I miss buttons, who decided touch screen was the future )
I think I'll prob just write mine out rather than download.
This is going to be so helpful as due to a condition I have I cannot blitz the house in one go like I used to(thats just asking for trouble and pain) so I am going to break the housework down into daily little jobs that I can mark off here and can mark off doing my physio too.

I've got several notebooks which go everywhere with me, One is a page a week diary which i write in anything happening that week and anything I need to do during the week on the left hand side, and on the ruled right hand side I have space for my shopping list, blog tasks, personal tasks, household tasks, need to cook and allotment tasks, which for this week is filled to the brim lol!
My second notebook is my budgets so it has been separated into my year at a glance, monthly cash, monthly card 1 and monthly card 2, so I can see straight away how much I have where. Then there is separate sections for my Las Vegas savings, my house savings, £1 Sealed pot challenge, 20p Savings Challenge, Virtual Sealed pot Challenge, when I complete a survey and how much.
And the third one is undecided as its just to pretty to use at the moment lol!Nessy x

I've decided mine is still going to remain a paper record and will be using some of the headings in the links, haven't found the ideal diary yet as I've not been out anywhere yet, won't get to shops until tommorow but that's good as I've not spent anything this year yet.
I want mine no bigger than A5 as I want it to be portable so I may try resizing some of the printables.0 -
I have been using a notebook for a few years now but want to have more of a proper system so I am more organised. I also have a diary which I keep in my bag so I can jot down appointments etc.
My notebook
A list of birthdays by month and a list of cards I need to buy for when I raid card factory
Stocking fillers and presents I buy throughout the year so I know what I have bought and for whom. Also have a section for 'present ideas' so if an idea pops into my head I write it down and can bargain hunt.
To do lists
Meal ideas
Veg I want to grow as I haven't had a chance to do much these last few years and I want to get back into it
A list of clothes the children have and sizes as I buy the next sizes up when I see bargains and so I can keep track of what I have and what I need
A list of who owe me money and who I owe so I don't forget
Places I would like to take the children like farms etc - if somebody recommends somewhere I jot it down so I can plan trips0 -

Has anyone else been coveting the pencil case thingy she has in this blog, I WANT! Never seen these before.0 -
Rising From The Ashes - that is a fab layout, well done!
Went a bit overkill in Poundland today, one spiral notebook, one page a day diary and one notebook with divided sections. Oh and my Organised Mum calendar arrived today. Now need to sit down and work out my system, I am too much of a perfectionist stationary freak, will spend more time fretting about using it all the right way that actually using it!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500
