Hi SF
Happy Easter holidays! I have felt so dozy today as I always do at the end of term. Looking forward to recharging the batteries!
Your holiday plans are making me feel *slightly* less guilty about ours. We're in the process of booking 2 weeks in Greece including visiting various sites on the mainland and a week on one of the islands. Our estimated cost has almost doubled, what with flights, internal flights, hire cars, airport parking, insurance, hire car insurance, fees for this that and everything else... I keep thinking we should have just saved the money and booked a cheap package holiday at a fraction of the price! OH keeps having to remind me that we only live once, and it will probably count as our honeymoon as we won't be able to afford one once we start the work on the house.
Just remember most people would still be paying for a holiday like that for years afterwards and you deserve it for all your hard work and saving!
Have a lovely and relaxing holiday

Phew!
Sorry for the absence - since the start of the Easter holidays I've been decorating our kitchen and it's finally finished :j I seriously underestimated how long it would take me to paint some walls and cupboardswe also chose chalk paint for the cupboards which then required two coats of wax on top so lots of waiting in between coats too!
However, now that it's done, it looks lots better and I'm quite proud of my first decorating projectit's much lighter and airy in there so I'm happy
it cost us about £140 in total for all the paint/wax/brushes so a lot less than a new kitchen too, so that's a definite bonus
In other news, I'm not doing well with NSDs this monthI need to get my focus back! As it's the holidays, I seem to be spending something everyday, even if it's just a small something. It's much easier not to spend when you're at work...
Is it wrong to want a nap this afternoon? Decorating is stressful!
ljaneyr - your trip to Greece sounds lovely. I've been to Greece three times and it's such a beautiful place to visit.
Goldiegirl - I am very excited about it
beanie - happy holidays indeed :j :jBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Hi slowlyfading :hello:
It sounds like you've been busy!
It feels so lovely to finish a room and to have it looking all nice and fresh! Before we moved in I painted pretty much the whole house white. It took a whole month and was sooo boring painting endless walls and ceilings the same non-colour, but it was cheap and it certainly freshened up the shiny orange, mustard yellow and bright pink walls
We went to Crete about 9 years ago and had a fab time. It is such a beautiful and friendly country and I love the food! Really looking forward to it now!
There's nothing wrong with a nap now and then, you won't have much chance for one next week!"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living." Terry PratchettBought our house 2012Married 2015
