So, I sold my car today! We're now a one car household, so it should save us lots of money in the long run
It feels strange though, I'm going to miss that carBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

We went down to one car for two and a half years and it was brill, you'll soon feel liberated, no more servicing, MOTs, insurance etc to worry about it. My new job meant I had to buy another one in the end but we would have been a few grand better off without it!!!Start Date 16/09/2015

Thanks for posting that - I did have a little wobble before I left thinking about whether it was the right decision, but I'm sure it is!Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Just had a look at my Student Loans thingy online, and wish I hadn't! I know that it's best just to leave it plodding along, but according to the calculator on here, it'll take me 11 year 5 months to pay off at the current rate   which is a looong time to be paying something off!
Hmm. Anyway, I need to cancel my car insurance this afternoon, hoping for a refund on that, every little helpsI'm having leftover spanish chicken for lunch and I'm going to the gym later

Hello August! It's scary how fast time is going now, where has this year gone?!
Tonight the in-laws are coming for tea, so I've bought a leg of pork to cook for the first time; I'm hoping it'll be straight forward....! I'm going to do it with roast veg, pitta breads, hummous, salad and feta cheese. I'm going to try and only have a small portion, and avoid the cheese - bloomin' dress still doesn't fit....
So, no NSD for me today as I need to pop out for salad-y stuff.I also need to hoover up downstairs and have a bit of a tidy. It's not a total tip in our house, but still, needs a bit of a shuffle roundI'm also hoping to get some time to practice the piano today.
Just looked at the mortgage account as the interest is applied on the 1st of the month - we've managed to deduce the daily interest down another 10p, to £10.59 a day. Oh, I can't wait til it's under £10 a day, that'll be a good milestone to breakBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

The weather is awful today - it's chucking it down
the cats were out before and they've both come back drenched and are now snoozing
I'm not venturing anywhere today, might watch a dvd in a bitI love the holidays! It'll be a NSD today though, which is good
funds are going to be a bit tight this month, but nothing we can't handle
I've decided over the winter months to research growing fruit and veg in tubs - as we've got the cats we can't have raised beds or anything, so tubs is the way forward! I'm hoping to grow some things that we eat a lot of, but I have no idea about it, so researching and reading it is!Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Lots of people seem to like these ^ for growing. You can often get them in supermarkets for about £3. I have tonnes of seeds and good intentions, but have yet to get around to planting anything. Only been three years
If you're serious about growing, why not check out the sales at the mo. Places like wilkinsons have lots of their garden stuff on offer.
Hope you're enjoying the hols. Hope the shrinkage for the dress works out. I'm having the same kind of problem, except its my school clothes I barely fit into any moreknow thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
the main issue with growing in pots is that you have to feed everything. the best bang for your buck in pots would be herbs, salads, chillis, maybe strawberries. you can get some dwarf veg which is ok in pots.
My cat is perfectly capable of digging up a pot and the squirrels seem to prefer them to the open ground as the soil is nice and soft.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans
