Treated myself to an orange hot chocolate from a well known coffee chain today and watched the world go by for a while. I sat in the window so I could people watch - town is busy on a Saturday so it was an interesting time
I also did some more Christmas shopping - we're over half way through the list of people to buy for now, so it's on the downhill straight. I do like planning what to get people and then finding the ideal presents. I bought a lovely scarf for someone today - wish I could keep it but I'm banned from any more scarves
We're going to go out for Sunday dinner tomorrow as I can't face cooking anything to be honest. It'll be nice to get out as we're going to go for a drive out and see where we end up. I've been talking to DH a bit today about how I'm feeling and we're going to try and do a bit more on the weekends when it's just the two of us, rather than sitting at home.

Great progress with the Christmas shopping sf, I have bought a few things but am totally disorganised with it!
Hope you are feeling a bit brighter and I'm sure some quality time with DH today will help. Sometimes weekends feel wasted even if we have just rested and caught up with things.

Cath - you were up early on a Sunday! This weekend has been lovely, it's just gone too fast as always. 4 weeks to go! That's only 20 working days til ChristmasBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Well, what a lovely weekend we've had
we took an spontaneous trip across to see my parents yesterday and stayed til about 5pm this evening. We didn't do much at all, in fact it was raining most of the time so we stayed indoors, but there really is nothing better than family. The only downside is that it's gone far too fast, as per usual!
Hoping to have a NSD week, apart from petrol that I think I'll need to get later on in the week but it's an essential so I can get to work so unavoidable. I've got some more breakfast things in for this week; last week I barely ate at all, as I tend not too when I'm tired and stressed, but I'm going to try my hardest to eat breakfast every day this week.
I'm also going to try my hardest to not let things get to me this week as much - so much easier said than done - so I can focus on the things I can control and not worry so much about things that are out of my control. Otherwise, I honestly don't know how I'm going to get to the end of term without crying every week
Happy Sunday everyoneBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Hi SF,
I'm glad you've had a great weekend with family, it really is the best thing when you're feeling cranky! And you've done so well with the Christmas buying! I haven't started yet at all which is scaring me a little.
We always make the effort to go out at the weekends - well - I usually drag my OH out if he's not keen! It just doesn't feel like a weekend to me if we haven't done something. Although dogs are an expense, they open up a whole range of free weekend activities of basically walking anywhere and everywhere!
Did you get out for that meal? OH and I had a 'date night' meal at a local pub which does a veggie roast and amazing home made desserts. It's lovely to go out when you do so rarely.
Hope this week is better for you. If you have any advice for stopping work politics and generally low staff morale from getting you down, I'd love to hear it

janey - thanks for commenting
we went out for Sunday dinner today; I had roast lamb with yorkshires and all the trimmings, followed by boozy bread and butter butter
 I hope this week is better - though I know from experience that in the run up to Christmas, work gets harder and harder. Blah
and I'm afraid I don't have any advice for work politics - what's happening? I generally moan to DH about it but if you need a sympathetic ear that I'm always here
