I'm sure the chicken will go fine if your blog is any indication of cooking ability :)

I had hoped to make HM chicken stock today, but there was nowhere near enough room in our SC

Ended up getting 2.5l in our pressure cooker, it was almost good enough to eat/drink on its own. Then again, I practically had to jump on it to get the lid on we had so many bones and veggies :rotfl:

Hope you're remaining optimistic re. TTC, a close relative recently announced a pregnancy after a fairly torrid year, good things come to those who wait.

    Happy Sunday everyone :)

Just finished off the biggest roast chicken dinner ever; we had chicken, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, yorkshire puddings, carrots, broccoli, brussel sprouts and gravy :D  only used a leg and a breast between me and DH so plenty of chicken spare too :) I'm going to make summer-in-winter chicken tomorrow night, then make some stock from the bones and make chicken and sweetcorn soup on Tuesday :) hopefully there'll be some spare chicken for sandwiches too. All from one chicken!

We're having some friends round tonight for a cheese and wine party, so may have got a bit carried away in Mr Ms today... :o I've got 9 () different cheeses to put out, with four different types of cracker too. That, plus grapes, crisps and nuts plus drinks should equal a good evening :) just need to remember I'm at work tomorrow.....!

I'm hoping for a NSD week this coming week, as our spends have been high in November so far, mainly because of the unexpected car expenses. The bathroom re-no starts the week after this, but that's a planned spend and not out of the monthly budget so to speak, but I'm so looking forward to it finally starting!

Right, I need to go and tidy/clean the kitchen as I seem to have used every pan we own.... :o:p

Oh wow, we're all angling for an invite to your next party now :)

Also, two types of pots with your roast? Ooh la la madame!

I'm (slightly) embarrassed to say that I had a bit of a meltdown at work today. Firstly, I had a nightmare drive to work which things going wrong with the car, which was incredibly scary on the motorway. If there is something wrong (which I think there is, DH is currently out test driving the car) then this will be the third time in three weeks that it will have to go to the garage. It's already cost us £600, and to be honest, we can't really afford to spend anything else on it at the moment.

I then had to deal with quite a rude adult once I got to work, and, as I was quite unprepared for the conversation, was left quite stunned and overwhelmed by it all. Coupled with not sleeping recently and lots of other things going on, meant that I momentarily lost my composed, controlled nature :o I ended up getting quite upset in our office, which is so unlike me, but I think it was the combination of factors really. Feel like an idiot now :( I've been pretty stressed and a bit down for a few weeks now, so I need to get a grip! Answers as to how I do that on a postcard please :o

Today has been a NSD, but it could end up being an expensive week if the car does indeed need to be taken back to the garage :wall: I also need to do some Christmas shopping this weekend which will mean a spend-y weekend, but I need to get sorted! There are still lots of presents still to buy.

In other news, at least it's Friday tomorrow :)

I'm sorry to hear you are having a stressy time of it at the moment.

Do you have a line manager or department head you can talk to?

As a veteran of meltdown situations at work in the past, the best thing I've found to do is to talk to a manager about it. I have a tendency to bottle things up, which causes explosions - but it generally feels better when I open up to someone I trust, and who can help, maybe with rescheduling some work commitments for example.

At least Christmas is getting closer and you'll be able to have a nice bresk

The thing is, we're all in exactly the same boat at the moment - it's just madness. I have, however, spoken to another colleague at work today who's not in our department and do feel a lot better after it. She didn't suggest too much, but being listened to and being able to have a rant about stuff made me feel better :o:)

So, I had to be towed home today, after the car broke down this morning on the way to work. I managed to trundle all the way to work very slowly, with 3 warning lights on. Fun! So, need to wait for the garage to open tomorrow to see how much that's going to cost.

Surely, that must be it now? I'm so glad it's the weekend - I need a break from everything. I'm going to try and get most of our Christmas shopping done tomorrow, but I don't know if we can afford to now! Blah.

Our bathroom renovation starts on Monday which I'm looking forward to finally getting started. The dining room has everything in as it all arrived today - there seems to be a LOT of stuff! :)

    Happy weekend everyone :)
