HI S*F, long time no catch-up.
Sorry to hear you're in the wars and feeling so grotty ... had a broken collar bone myself so totally sympathise with how bally annoying it can be trying to do even simple things whilst in a sling. Hope the kids at school are being helpful to you. Not sleeping well is not good generally but I found it went hand in hand (or is that sling) with the dodgy collar bone, I think the body stays in a state of semi-altertness to stop you rolling on it in the night, or if you do then that wakes you ... all of which leads to a distinct lack of restful sleep.
Have you tried sleeping more or less on your back but with an extra soft pillow under your shoulder? It can make it a little more comfortable. (Strangely I also found wearing a soft strapped night-time bra to be extra helpful when mine was broken, but depending what type you get it could be more hassle than it's worth if you have to get it on over your head)!
Interested to read about your proposed living room / dining room swap. We did this last year and have spent the time since wondering why we didn't do it before, especially as what is now the living room is a much warmer room overall! Hope having this to focus on will bring you a bit of autumn cheer, I know what you mean about the grumps, I seem to be walking that path at the moment too!
Take care and try to take it easy. xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Hi SF,
I'm having a long overdue catch-up in a spare few minutes and as usual, your posts seem to echo my situation. I am feeling completely swamped at work at the moment and we're expecting ofsted! I'm just so exhausted by it all and now I've got a stinking cold and cough. I don't usually get these things but I think working late every night has caught up with me.
To top it off, I went to a physio about some knee pain last week and she basically said I'm stuck with it. I can do some exercises to help but as it is linked to my back and hip problems, it will always be a problem
But we're still plodding on and it's nearly half term! Sorry to take up space on your thread moaning about myself! I wanted you to know you're not alone in the crazy school world but got a bit carried away
I always find the first part of the school year the worst, then the second half never seems as bad so maybe it is linked to the weather?
Have you got some time at home to sort things out this weekend?
Janey x

It's more that it stops be doing anything much! Very frustrating.

I have been sleeping on my backnot my normal sleeping pose but it's better than nothing.

In hindsight we should have had it that way round from the start, but we've now decorated the current living room, it's just how I want it. When we swap them over, the dining room will be nicely decorated (and hardly used) and the new living room won't be. Is that stupid to let that put me off?The dining room at the moment is a bigger room and warmer, and it's never used really. It makes more sense to have that as our living room!

Feeling very wobbly this evening
I think the pressure of everything is starting to get to me a bit than I thought it was.
Now, I know this is stupid, but with all this TTC going on, I'm starting to worry (already?!) that it won't happen for us. It's the end of the second cycle of trying and no success so far, and I'm massively disappointed already. I know that on, on average, it takes 6 months to conceive and I'm being silly worrying as it won't help, but goodness knows how I'm going to keep my cool on things. I can feel it slipping alreadywhat happens if it's something I'm doing wrong?
Moving on, I've made some fruit scones to take to work tomorrow as a Monday pick me up. All made from store cupboard ingredientsthey look a bit different than normal - not sure why? - but I'm sure they'll taste good with a cuppa tomorrow lunch time
Also had a NSD today - we had a curry for tea followed by some cheese and chocolate. Watching the last episode of Band of Brothers which we recorded ages ago but I've never seen the series - we're just getting to the end and I've really enjoyed itsad at times, but very good.
Hey ho, here's to another week.Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

SF, try and keep positive, things happen for a reason at a time that is right. Enjoy your scone tomorrow, and keep smiling.

Apparently I was not emotionally ready to be watching stand up to cancer this evening - Lloyd's story really got to me
does put things in perspective slightly. What a brave little soul he is.
Tomorrow I'm going to sit and assess what we're doing and where were are in terms of aims for 2014. I suspect we're quite a way off for some of them due to priorities changing during the year. I don't know if I can manage to reach all of them, but we shall see.
We've got a start date for the bathroom renovation - 17th November. Later than we had hoped but at least we know when it's going to startnot too much longer to wait really, but I had hoped it would be all done and finished by the end of October.
Anyway, happy weekendBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I wasn't allowed to watch Stand Up either as I'm too emotional where that's concerned.
I know it's easier said than done but do try to de-stress a little on the TTC front ... stress really doesn't help. Focus on getting that bathroom and those living spaces sorted out, so that your nest is ready for when it does happen.
Have an easy weekend, if you can, soon be half term. xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

I made a tea loaf this morning - haven't made one in ages
it made the house smell fantastic whilst baking, and it tastes pretty yummy too. I'll post a recipe up on my blog on Friday I think
It's been a NSD today - we've not been anywhere yet and we're going round to DH's parents for Sunday dinner later on. I love lazy Sundays where the time is just there to be savored, and nothing gets in the way. We had a lie in, then pottered around all morning. What's more to like than that?
One more week til half term for me - it's going to be a busy one but nothing unusual there. I'll be there til at least 6pm on Wednesday and 9pm on Thursday getting things done. A teacher's work is never done! I'll have plenty of planning to do over half term in preparation for the busy term that is the Christmas one.
It's our car's MOT - we've got it booked in for 28th - I just hope that it doesn't need too much doing to it. It needs a new cam belt but I'm also worried it'll need the brakes doing, and goodness knows how much that'll cost usjust hoping it's not too much.
Happy SundayBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Thanks! Can I ask, does it send you the whole post in an email? I'm not sure how it works
It sends the whole blog post as an e-mail. I subscribed at the start and got one e-mailed then didn't get one for a few weeks but now I get all of them. It's nice because I'd never keep up otherwise! I also get a beauty blog e-mailed daily so I can read about things I can't afford!slowlyfading wrote: »Feeling very wobbly this eveningI think the pressure of everything is starting to get to me a bit than I thought it was.

I'm sure most of us 'worriers' feel exactly like this. We're not even TTC yet and I've been worrying about it for years! Even before I knew I had medical complications I was worried. I think it's because you spend so long worrying about getting pregnant accidentally, that you can't believe it will actually happen when you want it too!
Will you reassure me when we start trying next year? I'm going to be a nervous wreck :rotfl:
Hope this week isn't too bad, I've got two parents evenings, a halloween disco and an INSET day - the joys of working in a primary school"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living." Terry PratchettBought our house 2012Married 2015
