We've been shuffling furniture around and I think we're going to switch our living room and dining room. The dining room is bigger than our current living room, and we hardly use it, so it makes more sense for that to be the living room. Only problem is we've decorated our current living room and I love it, but we haven't decorated the dining room and it's a bit blah. I think that if we do move rooms around, decorating the living room will be on the list of things to do quickly, I suspect
Money is proving more tight this month, but then we knew this would be the case. We've paid the deposit on our new bathroom and we decided to only take a bit out of savings and not the full amount - hence why it's tighter than normal. I'm looking forward to a new bathroom though! It'll be so nice when it's all done

Lots of home improvements happening! I am so desperate for a new bathroom but don't have a clue how much to budget. It's tiny so I'm hoping that keeps budget down but it's always the extras that seem to cost more than the bathroom suite!Re: the dining room, is it a full redecoration needed? already got a plan for where the christmas tree might go

It's the weekend :j :j
I'm not going to lie, I'm finding life in general tough at the moment. Spent most of the day feeling pretty tearful, even though work was alright. I feel so overwhelmed by everything at the moment. I think next week (not tomorrow) I'm going to try and have a weekend where I get all my work up to date/all paperwork sorted/all marking up to date, so that I feel better about things. I feel like I'm just not doing enough at the moment but I don't know what else to do at the moment.
Me and DH are going away for the night tomorrow night, just to get away. I'm really looking forward to it
Happy Friday everyoneBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

So I've not updated this all week, oops.
Last weekend was lovely - really relaxing and the weather was good. I could have stayed there for a month but one night was better than nothing
This week has been busy - as always - but okay. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it's the weekendbut this week has been alright. I've posted on my blog today about keeping things ticking along without letting the pressure get on top of me.
Happy weekend everyoneBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Sounds like last weekend was a much needed break. Often, loses of small tasks can feel overwhelming when they build up. Maybe make a list and cross off as you achieve them. I ended up writing lots of list last year during my re-training as was feeling very overwhelmed. A couple of hours sorting things might just clear a lot of headspace.
I know you have your blog and know about de-stress stuff but the concept of 'containment' might help. Hope a relaxing weekend is on the cards for you.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

I'm rubbish at updating this
The last two weeks I've had my arm in a sling after injuring my collar bone, which has been particularly painful and also very annoying as it limits how much I can do. It's the first day today when I'm not wearing it as I need to try and move it a bit more, but I'm being very cautious. That'll teach me not do too much in the future...
I made a small OP of £50 yesterday so the balance is slowly creeping downwardswe paid off £10,000 in 2013 but I know for a fact it's not going to be that much this year. I'm slightly disappointed in one way, but I know our priorities have changed slightly so not too worried at the same time, if that makes sense?
I need to start my Christmas shopping soon, as I haven't got anything at all yet! I have some ideas, but I'll be honest, I just don't have the enthusiasm for much at the moment.
There's so much going on at work at the moment, that I am finding everything a bit of a struggleI don't know if that, combined with the TTC, the collar bone thing and a particularly bad cold but I don't feel particularly happy nor relaxed at the moment. Plodding along and getting on with things yes, feeling positive and motivated, no.
Right, I'm going to stop writing before this all gets too depressingI need to write a food shopping list and get with my jobs for today. Happy weekend everyone!

Hi, not sure if it helps but I've felt quite flat and grumpy recently. Mr T has put it down to the weather and wrk being its usual delight
I hope you have a restful time and sorry to hear about your collar bone. It sounds particularly painful. It's hard to do anything I'm guessing without jarring it.
Hope the pain subsided quickly.

I know how you feel SF, work is also mad for me at the moment, it has even started to invade my evenings. I know that's nothing new for you as a teacher, but it's very alien to me.
How is your sleeping these days? I'm struggling to get undisturbed sleep, but I suppose crazy dreams and nightmares at least prove that I'm getting some snooze.
Try and blast through a few weekend jobs, but remember to plan in some downtime0 -

I think the weather changing problem doesn't help. My collar bone is fine until I try to lift my arms up (e.g to put a top of) and then it clicks painfully! Just trying to not do too muchthanks for commenting x

I'm trying to motivate myself to get off the sofa, make a menu/shopping list and pop to Mr Ms. I have yet to do it...Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
