Hello everyone,
Freegled some jars today and the lovely lady that collected them brought me a jar of HM marmalade as a thank you, which was a lovely surprise:). Now determined to sort out more and get them freegled too.
Listed some bits on ebay and may do a bit more in a mo.
I sorted through my craftybox and have finally let go of my fantasy artist self. I managed to completely empty the box (one of those under the bed plastic things on rollers) and kept just my little apron that I made at primary school:o and my embroidery sampler, oh and a small embroidery ring. They fit in the newly emptied little drawer and so the box went to DS1 for his tools. The rest of the contents are in my 9th square - also known as DD2s room. You now cannot see the bed for 'stuff' hopefully it'll all be sold before she comes home from uni for Easter.
Inspired by my new found tidying skills, I have cleared the dining table and it now has a nice clean table cloth on it and just 4 tablemats - no piles of papers which are also missing from my radiator cover (usual dumping spot). Tho the computer table is a state:o, but little steps eh?
Ok off to do some ironing. Take care all xOfficial DFW nerd - 282 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts'

:bdaycake:JOJO, a very happy birthday too you. I hope you have spent it doing some of the things that make you feel good.
And welcome to your 40'sI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Happy Birthday Jojo!
Saw your comment on the aspie thread and guessed it was from Her. Definitely chuck it away.
BB, I am impressed that your project is finished - well done.
I didn't achieve too much today and we are all a bit irritable tonight but the roast will be ready soon and all will be well.
I may be able to do some little declutters this week, if I keep my calm head on.
I have three shelves in the cupboard, two tops of cupboards to do, 1 coffee table (want to get rid of coffee table but DH resisting so need a room rearrange first).:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Happy Birthday Jojo!
Have listed loads on ebay today am nearly sick of the name, lol!
Making dinner, washing machine has decided to throw a wobbly and not spin, I can really do without this right now! Made an Eve's Pudding as well (dieting starts, um soon!) and then OH made a snotty comment about me not putting the washing up drainer back on the sink - he'd best not be starting as I'm really not in the mood for sarky comments!
Maybe I should take a bottle of wine and have a long bath with candles and try to relax! May even put the dinner in the bin. Not hungry *I am so 4 years old*0 -
:bdaycake: JoJo.. Happy Birthday. Even if the day hasn't been special, may this be a really good year for you.
My 40s was the decade in which I achieved a whole host of bucket list entries and progressed so much personally and professionally.
The best photo ever taken of me was taken when I was 42 and you can see from my face that I'm in a good place.
Life didn't exactly begin at 40, but it had many, many good things in it.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... There goes the birthday card making pointed comments about it being my 40th today.
Why go to the bother of sending a card (even if she couldn't be bothered to get a proper one) and then make a comment that implies the receiver isn't so young anymore? Why?
It's bad enough it was the only card received. But to be an unpleasant one?
Jojo, with your wisdom I had assumed you were a little older. Forty IS young isn't it?
Happy birthday you dear thing.0 -
Happy birthday JoJo.
My 40's were the most eventful decade of my life. Some good, some not so good.
Since I hit my 50's life calmed down a bit, so there's stuff to look forward to, honest!Early retired - 18th December 2014

:bdaycake: Happy Birthday Jo Jo. Enjoy some virtual cake and some virtual .
Forty is nothing. I went out to the pub with mates for mine. I play pool about once every five years. Very badly. It amuses me and if the balls stay on the baize it's a great match.:p
Yeah, I don't like these passive-aggressive Oh-you've-reached-a-landmark-birthday cards. My grandma (mum's fosterparent and 50 years her senior) sent her a 21st birthday card which said It's Later than You Think. Handwritten into it, I mean, not made like that. I've seen it with my own eyes. !!!!!!? She was a married woman and up the duff with me, not exactly gathering moss, y'know?
Mum spoke to me today about That Teapot. She'd purchased said teapot at a bootsale 10-15 years ago for me. Only it was the wrong size (far too big for me) and had a printed image I didn't care for. It was also the wrong size for Mum's household (too small). But even though it had cost pence and was a nice teapot, it couldn't be donated to the c.s. not could it be carbooted and gawd knows I tried - more than once.
So it sat and sat and sat unused in a kitchen cupboard taking up space but now her SIL has need of a teapot and it's going to her, hooray! Baby steps.............Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
