Hi everyone, I have decided it's time to come out of hibernation! Hope you'll have me back :D

Been up since 6, OH is off oop north for 3 days on business so I got up to make him breakfast. First load of washing is on the line, second load is nearly finished, third load is ready to go in. Need to call the guy who installed our new washing machine as the pipe is now leaking  but figured I would wait until 9.00 for that.

The house is a tip  At my sisters recently and I saw how easy it was for them to clean as it was tidy - and they have 3 kids! Definitely time to crack on. Going to make a start in the living room and see where I go from there.

Also going to make some time to get into a couple of recruitment agencies and see if I can pick up some temp work or short term contract work to keep the money ticking over.

Will read back when I get the chance but in the meantime (((hugs))) to anyone who needs them.

Have however just got rid of the toddler bed (woo hoo) on gumtree and bought new wardrobe for eldest DD so hope to get her room painted at the end of the week and then wardrobe built next Mon maybe

Have been a bit better at getting rid of kids too small clothes but I've still a lot to work through and barely have time ATM

Harding out to work in a bit but have no energy, wish I could just stay at home but I had all weekend off so shouldn't complain, really!

  • Hello,

All seems a bit more positive round here this week :j hope everyone is ok.

I decluttered a book onto my counsellor the other week, and two small items from my desk - useful to her, helpful and amusing to me!

Two new balls of wool and a pattern crept in at the weekend, along with a new work jumper.

I have a bag ready for the charity shop, and, shock, my old running shoes and my favourite put-on-when-can't-be-bothered shoes are in a bag, awaiting disposal. Just need to add my clapped out hiking boots and then.....

I'm busy getting rid of old, manky, clapped out bits of clothes and shoes, that I am fed up of, and I now feel better able to 'deserve' new or newer things. Scary to think of spending money and buying new things though

Buy carefully and the new things will last many years, GPG. You deserve nice things!

Looking at my wardrobe, nearly all the long-stayers are good quality clothes and a lot were CS bargains to start with. I have one summer top that is deffo Seventies - Eighties (it's sized by bust size!) and it STILL looks great. It gets 3-4 wears a year. MandEss used to put the year of manufacture on their clothes; I have many 90s tops.
I do have regular sorting out sessions where 'too short/old/wrong colour/cut/style' stuff gets CS'ed. I've learned not to view with the eyes of the fantasy me, and I've passed on quite a lot too, to friends and family when reality bites.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

This is the bit I can't yet do. I see floaty tops, dresses and skirts, think "ooh how lovely (in my head, I'm always going to Ladies Day, or having afternoon tea at the Ritz; sadly neither is true, Mr A and £land get my money more often than not) and purchase said items.

They will then languish in my wardrobe until I grown bored of them and resign them to the CS. The very next day, I get invited out to an occasion that would be ideal.

I also live in jeans and t-shirts. Comfy. :o

I need to be able to tell my fantasy self the reality of my life before I spend hard cash on it! :o

More things have gone onto ebay today. They've got a week, if they don't go by then, they're off to the CS. I want to crack this!
  • I am listing ebay as we speak!! The Prof has gone USA bound so I am enjoying that hour or so between school and tea by ebaying. I am ignoring the fact I am meant to be doing college work!
I am putting 5 more pairs of shoes on then I am looking at college work while tea cooks (hot dogs- very low maintenance lol)

  • Just bimbling through to say hello.....

...not a lot happening here, just ticking over.

But everybody else seems to be going great guns!
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

42 archived customer files have been burnt to a cinder tonight. That equates to two biggish cardboard boxes out of the house. Most importantly that is the start of a regular review and safe disposal.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

Well done WW, sounds like a great achievement!

Have tidied and cleaned the lounge today, done quite a bit of cleaning and not so much de-richarding but the lounge looks good and I want to get the rest of the house to the same state.

This evening I have dyed my hair, got into my pj's and I'm now sat in front of the fire with a glass of red and am planning on being in bed by 9.30 - bliss!
