you are all doing so well:j
Days like today are when my clutter can take over and all my systems fall apart..

Have had totally carp day at work katiep and goldie girl you have my sympathies with 'your boss' trouble. I have had a bad boss day today, no matter how organised, punctual, hardworking, enthusiastic , motivated all the things they want in the JD my face just doesnt fit. Been here for years and just feel mrs taken-for -granted. Since i have got home i have moodled and moped and left general clutter in my wake, shoes, coffee cups, work bag and general dross. Head full of what choices i have and not concentrating on much else. State of house after being home 2.5 hours is obvious!

I really need to break this cycle sometimes it can go on for days. Not looking for sympathy but if anyone can share how they break out of it, am willin to try. xx

IME when I am going round and round in circles at least part of the issue is not current; something that happened recently is triggering memories (concious or otherwise) about an event in the past. And my reaction to the past event is colouring how I respond to the current situation.

I find it hard to resolve the current stuff until I have worked out the old stuff. Sometimes all I need to do is sit with (embrace) the uncomfortable feelings and when I realise what the old stuff is about, I start to move on.

If you have been there years, it may be to do with something that happened when you were first there, or it could be something that happened at school or home?
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

RAS, really found your post helpful as I'm going through that right now. I find each step I move along, I also need time to acclimatise and seems the way I do that is to withdraw, nothing gets done, then gradually I build up to getting one thing done (new cat litter in a bucket instead of packet lying around), then a couple of things. I have huge amounts of time where nothing is done, or the very basics at most, and then I will have massive amount of enthusiasm again and off I go. I wish I could bottle the good days, because it can be so demoralising in the bad days.

Thanks GQ for the permission to get rid of said grill, thanks also for letting me not feel a complete failure and that things happen.

Craigy, it's heavy enough to fight of the z's that's for sure. :D

OMG ras i think you're right..!!:(

Have pondered and i think i need to ponder some more but when i was in my previous job a similar pattern happened.. after a period of time actually same amount of years i have been in this job!other staff were passing me by for the promotion/better hours/training opportunities and dependable old me holding the fort keeping things going and gettin on with it. Its happening again...such frustration.. Whenever i go for any of these opportunities theres issues with funding and job freezes and various other reasons why it cant happen for me.
Sorry for being Mrs grump/sounding like a spoilt brat and not related to thread but it does impact on the way i function around the home.

I don't have any, but I know a lot, and have been a child :). Mum went to college with 4 kids, youngest was 3. She completed an access course, degree and postgrad, so had a busy time. We were no angels and not very helpful.
    .

My mam did a simular thing, I am the youngest of 7 children and while she was pregnant with me she decided to become a nurse ( my dad had already been a general nurse for over 6 years at this point) I think she went to uni tho as she
graduated, she is now a RMN, it really amazes me tho as she managed to keep house, for us to all have home cooked meals, wash, dry and iron all clothes.

If you asked her how she did it all she would just tell me "because your dads bl0ody useless!" :rotfl:

I am a very lazy at the moment, I just can't seem to co-ordinate myself to do everything , just before I had DS2 I was in a super routine, when I had him, I came home from hospital and managed to just straight back in to it, then when he was nearly 2 weeks old I fell down the stairs and tore the ligaments in my ankle, and its still bruised and difficult to walk on 4 weeks later! :o

Well done everyone so far bins have just been emptied so while tea is cooking am going to fill a bin bag

Pickle, I know what you mean. I seem to spend my life watching the train pull out of the station without me. I'm standing on the platform thinking, I should have run faster, I should have got there earlier, I should have said no to that person...I should have walked away sooner.

I'm always the dependable, get the job done kind of person. And because I do it quietly and without fuss, an assumption is made that it must be easy.
