    Well done sevenup.

Took a drawer out of my chest last night and sorted through it whilst watching TV and have more stuff to Freegle and more old paperwork in the basket for use as firelighters. This morning I had a quick sort of a shelf in my big kitchen cupboard - just whilst making a cuppa and some toast and have managed to clear it!! Paper tablecloths that I didn't even know I had , puppy pads (no puppy!) and cutlery tray to be freegled and some candles now in sorted drawer with some more candles I found in there last night and an emergency torch and batteries.

Oh also properly cleaned the shower whilst I was in it:p. Took some star drops and a sponge in there and washed down the walls. Cleaned the bath and toilet yesterday so looking quite reasonable in there now. Still have the bidet and sink to give a proper going over (just to make clear I do give my sink and loo and quick wipe over regularly but I'm now giving it all a good thorough scrub which is a somewhat rarer event:o)

    Progress is happening!!

I don't know but no doubt someone must have been paid for the story-one would expect anyway.

I wondered the same thing. Also, although sad, it isn't "news" really as I understand the word, so much that is reported in so called newspapers these days isn't news at all. Gossip, innuendo, scare mongering, celebrity watching is all that's reported these days and is the reason I rarely read them online or otherwise.......unless (as in this case) I am sent a link someone else thinks I might find interesting. Which rather makes me wonder if the friend that sent me this knows more about my hoarding tendencies than I thought :o

I have taken advantage of some rare sunshine and decluttered some stuff in the garden today. Now feel anxious for DH to get home with the car so that the stuff I can see can be removed to the recycling depot before I change my mind and put it all back in position.

:( Good grief, that poor man. The outcome of that accident could have been appalling. You have to feel for him and his family and wince at the intrusion of seeing his home stuck out there in the public domain for strangers to gawp at and comment upon.

Here's hoping he will be able to live safely in the future.

I still have had no contact back from my freecycler about when they propose to come at the weekend to collect my Item, despite having given them my address and phone number.

Frankly a little cross. I'm not staying indoors all weekend welded to the computer and phone and waiting until they deign to make contact. They have until Sunday evening to sort a collection out or the offer is withdrawn and I try some of the other responders. Mini-grrr! That'll only be a whole 7 days since they asked for it.

Tomorrow I shall take the critically injured landline phone which I replaced this week to the recycling bit of the dump. My evil hoarding side started to speculate about what the innards would be like and how it is possible to weave clever things from electrical wires. Well, some people can, I've never done it personally and I'm not about to start now.

:o It worries me that I even entertain the concept for the briefest time. T'ain't natural, is it?

The Argos lady tried to give me a catalogue when I picked up my new phone. Have you seen the size of those blessed things lately? I'm sure they used to be about a quarter of the thickness they are now. I politely declined; not giving houseroom to a chunk of tree when I can easily look stuff up on the interwebulator.

This week will be dead phone out = live phone in, plus some library books in and some other ones back again. No net gains or losses. It's all good.

Had a very busy week but the fact that I've managed to do a few washings, a bit of ironing and a re-do of OH's reject dishes (his clean means barely touched with water sometimes!) has been an achievement I think!

Working all weekend as usual, with any luck may get the border and stickers up in kids room on Mon as OH is off work (although I'm working and have to leave at about 1)

  • GreyQueen, when I Freecycle I ask those responding to say when they can collect and then when I offer I say "so long as you can collect by X the item is yours". Once it goes past X then I re-offer - I can't be doing with spending time waiting for people who can't be bothered to tell me what is happening.

The hoarder chap himself may have wanted to help others in similar situations to acknowledge their own problems by showing how it has affected him.
