Paid another £5.00 off today, I had to wait until the end of this week to see what was left.. I had to put more money on the gas card, as for the price of food I just wont go there!

Rent has just gone up, council tax has gone up, and my wage rise 1% I suppose I shouldn't moan at least I have a job (which I hate) However we all have to count our blessings. Just wish the weather would brighten up.... where's the chocolate:EasterBun

£10.00 for me today :D getting there slowly at snail pace, learning a very painful lesson... I had to re-examine why I was spending and the crux of the matter was being a 'single parent' I simply didn't want my children going without... and not having a emergency fund for when the fridge or freezer packed up. By understanding what drives us to 'spend' we can hopefully pull on the brakes! It's now 'pay back time' .... but It's my debt and I will get the satisfaction of being debt free one day!

Hi all [sheepishly pops head round the door], long time no see.

I've fallen very much off the wagon the past couple of months: have had some whacking great train fares to pay visiting my mum in Manchester (£100 a pop) and other bits left over from comfort overspending in Feb on clothes.

But! I'm back in full swing, looking forward to April being a good spending month and doing more food and menu planning to save on basic costs. Ebay is my best friend again for new work clothes!

Jaxsmar, sorry to hear about all the extra bills. I don't understand why, but my council tax hasn't gone up... it's very random! Probably a few more services disappearing locally make up for it, which would be a shame.

    Welcome, Mrs Toast (Awesome name!).

I've skimmed £7.72 from my account - what I have left before I get paid at midnight. Hurrah!

    Hi all,

I'm pretty new around here... just finishing my last year of university and would like to start being a bit more sensible with money than I have been.

Do you mind if I join in? I get paid weekly and I'm trying to persuade myself to put a wee bit on to my credit card each week and reporting back to you guys would be some motivation! Every little definitely helps! :)
    [STRIKE]Credit Card 17.9% = £460 paid off 2013[/STRIKE]!
    £1000 overdraft 0% = 0/£1000
Owe parents for car = £410/£2950
    Owe SAAS £240/£548
    BF Lend £0/£200

And I'm still pretending my student loan doesn't exist until I earn enough that they ask for it! :p
  • Welcome and good luck to all the new folks on here. I've definately found this the best challenge. Stops me spending any 'spare' money so that I can do my payment and it really does add up.

    This week £3 :)

  • Oh my dear I am doing so much procrastinating its untrue.... I keep popping in here to see how we are all doing... it really is hard at the moment I really need a kick in the derrier. I need to work harder with my friend ebay;).
I am now back at work full time (after being off ill for 6 motnhs last year- poorly in the head- not medically unwell)I did better then than I am now!! I am back up to full steam and am fortunate to be in a position of working some overtime. I did do an MSE finance chart and OMG am so beyond where I should be. I am too lax with my own worries as am helping son get his sorted.. in the mean time mine is going belly up. Sorry guys you really dont need this, I just need to document my thoughts - no, should be admissions of where I am going about it the wrong way.
Moving on withone self lanky - give yourself a kick. Am going to pay 150 of outstanding spend plus the 1.90 interest charge and round up to the next fiver which is extra payment of 2.73:) (the cc pays higherarchy payments first so the spend is gone as had paid some towards it the other week):)
Just done the workings out for my signature and the total has come down so am happier now and can see that actually I am on the right track:T:T
