You singled handed turned this thread and opened the doors for the multi-thousand posters to jump in with their "i agree its a troll" nonsense. All you and your clique are going to do is create a closed forum where the only people posting are yourselves.
On this thread it was posters who advised contacting social services - you all love a bit of drama then call troll. Threads are getting ridiculously predictable:
My husband didnt take his turn doing the dishes - within 15 posts he is an abusive guy and the poster is advised to leave.
This forum is becoming a live time salacious gossip/problem column but in the middle of it good advice is given out.
The problem is in finding the balance between new posters with problems and troll hunting and maybe the only way forward is ignore the thread if you think it is a troll.
I find it amusing when people say I am in a clique because I often agree with someone on one thread and completely disagree with them on another.
I say what I think and would not hold back a disagreement because I happen to have agreed with the poster somewhere else.
How can you contribute properly or ever learn anything new if you are caught up in who has posted what and responding to the poster and not what is written?
Not really what forums are about, is it?0 -

Well she did not sound like she was upset, stressed and sad when she laid into someone else very aggressively recently on another thread (incidentally, someone who was also looking for advice) so I consider my cynicism to be justified. Consequently, I will save my sympathy and support for those who I consider to be genuine.0 -
I knew she was trolling - can spot it a mile off. The majority of this section of MSE forum seems to be filled with persons who would be better off writing scripts for Eastenders.Turn your car around.0

I read the first posts, assumed it was a work of fiction and have ignored it until just now when I realised how long it had got.
I expect the OP got what she wanted.
Most people who've spent a fair amount of time on forums have been taken in by a few trolls, that's how we get good at spotting them.
A recent thread with a similar theme about a 16 year old possibly at risk was taken seriously and the poster received good advice, because there was no reason not to take it at face value.
I actually believe that 'outing' trolls like this one is a valuable service on a forum. Some of them are emotional leeches and manipulate innocent people's emotions, there have even been extreme cases where they've used their sob stories to con people out of goods or money.0 -

You thought that was a trolling thread? Must say I didn't, but who knows?0 -

The one where the girlfriend of the son was at risk? With younger siblings? Or is that this thread?
I think I was an early poster on that one and got a barrage of 'thanks' wooohoooo... LolTurn your car around.0 -
I kinda get the whole being anonymous and receiving feedback from a person not involved.
However, i do sometimes think; !!!!!!!?!!
Do you have a bet with your mates, seeing who can achieve the highest 'views' ?Turn your car around.0 -
I didn't post because this was SO obviously a wind up.
If you look at all 'her' other threads, they are all deliberately pointed into the right forums just to wind people in that board up.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
