I do feel like I'm wasting their time, Like they sent a tacticle aid van last night and 4-5 officers got out to deal with the car. they could have been doing something else.

They could have been protecting a member of the public from harm. Oh hang on - they were! You do not need to live in fear and it is the job of the police to help this happen. However, they can only do this job if you talk to them!

You are not wasting their time.

Report all threatening texts to the police. You can show them to the desk officer, have them recorded and then delete them.

    Hazel,

I've just read all this thread and am so impressed with the way you have done what had to be done and not turned a blind eye to what is happening to your nieces.

As another poster said neglect is indeed something that SS take very seriously. I'd also like to echo what someone else said about not deleting anymore threatening/demanding texts, you never know if you might need them as evidence and it also helps show the social worker what sort of attitude your sister has.

You've mentioned she knows drug dealers. I'm wondering if she has a drug problem herself? It could explain why she is so callously unaware of the impact of her actions on others. But that is just a guess.

Thank goodness those little girls have you in their lives, and I hope your sister finds a way to accept support and change her ways. Maybe that's being a bit over optimistic from what you have said but to the best of my knowledge, social services work with the aim of keeping families together.

Respect to you .... I really mean it. Please keep using this forum in any way you need, you have a lot of people who want to support you here.

    Hi Hazel,
I've been following this thread from the beginning. You have done totally the right thing so thank you on behalf of your nieces... many children suffer from neglect, and it affects them very seriously indeed. You have been really brave - well done! And as others have posted above, please keep a record of all the stuff that's going on: it may be needed.
Take care of yourself and hold your head high - you made an excellent decision.
    Happy 2013!

I rang orange and the police, Orange have said they will pass details onto the police, Got offered a free number change, Which I said I might take them up later.

Police said the texts upto now are 1 incident, But the text threatening a visit and the car outside the house is seperate and they can go talk to my sister to warn her off if I want.

Police echoed what was said here, I said I didn't want to waste their time if someone is outside etc as they sent tacticle aid out the other night for the car. The officer said it keeps them out of trouble if they kept busy. Made me giggle a bit.

I've been thinking, Maybe someone can correct me if I'm thinking wrong. If I get a new number and pass it on to my younger sister, Surely she might pass it on to my eldest sister. even if I ask her not to.

If I was to give a number to my younger sister. I was going to get a new phone and just get a sim for my old one, and give her the spare sim number if that sounds ok?
