prestige saucepans all fallen apart:guarantee?

  • I wood'nt, ...sorry, wouldn't junk your pans just yet. the metal bodies are really well made and generally superior than modern versions.
The original handles were Teak wood and failure comes from heat at the pan joining area and use of dishwashers.
The handles are held in place with a SS metal threaded hook which extends through the core of the handle and is firmly clamped with a slotted nut.
I suggest removing whats left of the handles and take them and the pans to a local carpenters/ school who should be able to turn up replacement ones to fit. If you are successful with this explain to the carpenters that they could produce a qty of these for sale on EBay or Amazon for their income.
You may also find cheap saucepans with handles that fit the Prestige, they often use the "hook" system.
  • My prestige saucepan handles have cracked and fallen apart after 49years of good service.
I have purchased a TEFAL replacement handle from Lakeland kitchen shop for about £17 it fits perfectly. No need to get rid of saucepans. I took a saucepan into Lakeland to try their handle, no problem.
  • Try Lakeland for a TEFAL replacement handle they fit.
