hi there,
I am currently researching a trip to vegas for our honeymoon, I am looking into going mid September for 7 nights. I am thinking of spitting this between 2 hotels to experiance more of vegas and I have heard it will be easier to get an upgrade using the $20 trick if your only staying for a few nights rather than a full week.
We are not planning on hiring a car so I was wondering what we would do with our luggage since you have to check out of one hotel at 10am but cant check into the next hotel untill 3pm.
I also want to see Penn and Teller, am I better of buying tickets before we travel or while we are there?
We went to florida in 2011 and I found it quite over whelming so I want to be extra prepared this time :-)
Thanks0 -
Not worried but not overjoyed either.
Since i have been going it has been just over 2 dollars but it has been as low as 1.25 so 1.55 ish is ok
Odly I ordered a load yesterday for July which arrived today
My gut instinct is that rate may drop sharply if boe increase interest rates this year (coi I have no knowledge or history working in finance just speculation)0 -
Just to note peeps, for anyone staying at the Golden Nugget or choosing to, they do honour the Best Rate deal vs QuickRooms.com.
I checked before i booked, so booked today for 2 nights, online cost $233 with tax, after the rate deal, its now $166 (sat-mon on memorial wkdend!)
Lady also said to keep eye on special offers as if something comes to me and it works out cheaper, they will lower the rate again for me!
sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!
Next stop: Trying to do same for Mandalay Bay!0 -

Re check out/in Many hotels will have rooms ready in the morning so it may not be a problem, if the room isnt ready, you can still check in and go back for key later, in the mean time leave luggage with the bell desk0 -
Does anyone think its worth booking a direct flight with Virgin in september for £749 , cheapest indirect i can now find is £637, or do you think i should wait for a sale? seems to have gradually risen the last few days.
Cheers folks0 -

Nice one! See Best Rate Guarantees do work.
Please tell me you are staying either at the Golden Nugget first or last on your trip as that would be some swapping if doing Luxor then the Golden Nugget then onto Mandalay Bay.0 -

The GN is the only place so far that has not sent me any special offer e-mails since signing up.
I have been checking the rate for the new Rush Gold Club rooms and it hasn't varied for my dates at all. No resort fees good though.
I'm making a conscious effort to avoid resort fees where possible, especially if they don't include bottles of water, as apart from a newspaper thats the only benefit we have.
Its just a case of juggling where we want to be, and comparing room rates with/without resort fees.
Reference the Orleans shuttle, strangely before this thread it never really occurred to me it was primarily for Orleans guests to visit the strip, I always thought it was to attract strip walkers to visit the Orleans casino, or both.
I can see the logic now, it probably is more for the benefit of Orleans guests to make a trip to the strip without cabs.
I'm still going to try it though, after all we are bound to leave some money behind in Orleans.0 -

If it was us I think I would prefer that though - moving one hotel away would be more of a faff to me, I think...like the time I moved from one flat in a complex to another - that was more of a pain than moving across town as it seemed like so much effort to go across the road and up a flight of stairs...plus I think the general change of scenery would be nicer if the distance was a bit greater...but that's just me.
I'm annoyed as hubby has not had an offer from TI that covers our dates yet...the last few trips we've double booked TI and Bally's for 1 or 2 nights as he had an offer for comped room + freeplay...I really like TI but cannot see paying to stay there...so far we're Paris for the full 8 nights...it was the same price as booking 5 nights as the comped nights are at the beginning and end so seemed silly not to stay 8 nights for the same price as 5...but I always hoped that we would have a night or two somewhere else...I'm currently eyeballing GN as I have always wanted to stay downtown one night to try it out and see what we think...so maybe this will be the trip we do that.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
I think I might have to do this.
