On the note of Bills, any recommendations as to where else to go for similar entertainment ?
We liked it in there as it had a cool atmosphere and the cocktail ladies were topping up for us every 15 mins which i LIKE!!!!
Plus they had Karaoke which catered for all nationalities!
I did goto Ellis island the 1 night (around 11 ish), but felt like a scene from 'american werewolf in london when the guys enter the local pub!'
Anyone stayed in Golden Nugget in past couple of years ? Found it nice and so on, pool OK etc ?0 -
We have succumbed to the lure and booked a return trip!
Although I said we wouldn't go in June again it turns out it's the only month we can do this year, so we decided to go for it. Flying from Gatwick with Virgin and got 5 nights at the Cosmo in a Terrace Suite (only so that we can wash our clothes) followed by 4 nights where we're driving out to Yosemite and Mammoth Lakes, then we'll be back in Vegas for another 3 nights before flying home. Not booked the last 3 nights yet, might wait a bit and see what comes up, but we're gonna try to stay somewhere new.
Although we hadn't planned it, it turns out we'll be in Vegas for our first anniversary0 -

We are thinking of trying the shuttle to visit McMullens Irish Bar for something to eat and a few pints of Guinness, and popping into Orleans for slots, save driving.
Noticed on the website it says Hotel Guests Have Priority Shuttle Seating At All Times, has anybody experienced being stranded ( or having to take a cab ) by not being able to get on buses, or is it usually easy enough ?0 -
does anyone know when the next VA sales/reward seat sales are?
last sales ended mid-Jan and last reward seat sale was 22 Jan-5 Feb...0 -
Anyone spotted the British Airways Reward Seat sale? Currently covers 15% off Las Vegas in Feb and March from LGW.
Rtn flight is now 42500 avios + £350 taxes approx in economy0 -

Thats a good question, I have stayed at Orleans many times but have never used the shuttle, however I plan on using it on my first couple of days there this year (april) before we pick our hire car up so would be good to know, of course we will be hotel guests though0 -
We have stayed at the Orleans a couple of times, and used the shuttle most days.I can honestly say there has never once been any mention of hotel guests going on first. At the Orleans,Bills and Gold Coast it's first come first served. No driver has ever asked the people waiting,if they were guests of the hotel or not.0

Thanks, but was there plenty of space, did anyone get left behind?0 -
I'm looking at flying premium economy with Virgin at the beginning of September and the best price I can find is around £1130-£1180. Would it be worth waiting a few more weeks for a sale of some sort or would that be the best price I could hope for?0

It's only a mini bus.I would say there is room for about 30 people on board.
We must have used it 25-30 times over our visits, and probably had to wait for another bus on a couple of occasions. The round trip from Orleans to Bills and back again takes about 15-20 minutes. So if you don't manage to get on the first bus that comes,it can be quite a wait.
That said,we stayed at the Orleans for 10 days in August, and not only did we always get the first bus that came,we never waited any longer than a few minutes for any bus. That of course,is the luck of the draw though.
Quite often we would be walking back on the strip for the bus at Bills, and it would literally be pulling up just as we got there.
In fairness,I am not one who likes to stand around waiting long before I start moaning about it,but I have never felt the need to moan about the wait for the shuttle. But like I say we have maybe always been lucky.
You are only a short drive from the strip anyway,so if you don't want to wait,it will only be about $10 or so to the strip.0
