Your right on the rewards... You can push to 4 rewards, but there is not set $ on how many chips you need to buy....

I plan on buying chips for mine and the wifes account next year ready for our trip in May.....

Would have to buy 3 amounts and hoping it wont cost more than $60 per person..... The plan though is to make sure/estimate the rewards were going for outweigh the cost of buying chips to get upto a 4th reward......

eBookers have e-mailed me a 20% off Hotels code valid till 16th December. You have to placed your order via their app on a Mobile Device and the code is APP20.

I will do a comparison later on standard cost via the website and cost using the 20th off code. It's valid on trips up to 31st October 2014.

and lowcostusa will still beat Ebookers on room rates...
with discount, ebookers for 3 nights Luxor with resort fee = £141

Lowcost = £104 inc resort fee
I did 19th May for 3 nights.... same old, same old, but I know the rates as I have been tracking them since August using my own tools....
I admit am only watching select hotels, but I still get to see all hotel rates...

I looked into Hotwire earlier, funny how Luxor is classed as a 4" yet others class it as a 3.5* ....
Yet anyone who has stayed there (ie, ME!) would agree its 3 to 3.5* for standard rooms..... Even the hotwire rate (research shows its luxor) was £3 more than Lowcostusa :):)

When I booked in October to go in November, eBookers was a few hundreds quid cheaper accross the total cost than lowcostusa so I had written them off and wondered what all the praise was about. Now I am looking at going in May, lowcostusa does beat eBookers so i wonder what the difference was at the time or if I was just right place right time!
  • Las Vegas, great city.

    Few observations:
    - Taxis are expensive and our cab from the airport to Excalibur took us on a mystery tour via the freeway. You can organise shuttles to all hotels.
    - Otherwise transport is excellent, there are buses up the strip called the "Deuce", and Tram-style buses which take you to the outlet centres. There is a Monorail which runs til the small hours which runs up and down the strip, as well as a seperate train between the Excalibur and Mandalay Bay.
    - Drink in casinos is expensive. Some bars have happy hours eg. the Pub in Monte Carlo had a 2 for 1 on beers, the Italian bar in Excalibur had 2 dollar beers.
    - If you feel the urge to gamble, I found Roulette to have the best odds, and could easily spend a few hours occasionally breaking even or making money. (But be careful - after all the Casino always makes money!) Also, most casinos will have cocktail waitresses with complimentary drinks.
    - Many casinos have food courts which 'take away' style meals, ideal for a cheap breakfast, lunch or nighttime snack. We didn't try the buffets unfortunately.
    - Excalibur we found to be a reasonably priced hotel, on the strip. Our view wasn't great though - literally a wall.
    - 'Free shows' are usually a means to either extort a large tip or get you into a timeshare presentation
  • Hi

Can anybody recommend a Grand Canyon helicopter ride. I'm looking at papillon but wondered if there was any others and who people may have used.

Also any discount codes would help as I am there for New Year's Eve and a few days after

    Thanks

Stuie, it wasn't the flight from LAS that was the problem, just the pathetically poor communications on the rest of the trip. I'll let you know when I'm feeling human again.
