Problem with Priceline here is just how many options are if bidding - same issue with hotwire - and you can find yourself in a 3/4 star hotel which is charging you up to $40 a DAY parking.
I'm still looking, its expensive as its a Monday/Tuesday night stay, for the Sat/Sun when we arrive into LA we've paid £120 for two nights...same hotel is £255 for the Monday/Tuesday!0 -
Therein lies the problem, its our first ever trip to LV!
I'm just looking for something clean, comfortable and reasonably priced, with free self parking as we'll have a car all week (I've heard this isn't so much of an issue in any case as its all free in LV).
As it's your first trip, I personally would lean towards NYNY for the jazzyness of it all... tho Monte Carlo's Pool is better IMO
Re: building work - there was work going on when we stayed at MC, but it didn't impact our stay at all... not to say it won't with you but I wouldn't automatically rule NYNY or MC out because of it
As you say, parking shouldn't be an issue / extra cost consideration
edit: i've assumed all your prices are via. the likes of smartervegas etc0 -

sounds very vegas
that's been in the works for aaages...I will be surprised if it ever finishes...the one at the Linq in the greater Harrah's area is coming along an awful lot faster.
In terms of hotels - you'd be hard pressed to find a hotel that doesn't have building work going on there or next door (which is sometimes worse than at your actual hotel depending on where you room is).
Luxor would only be in consideration if staying in a pyramid room was of significant interest (assuming room is about the same otherwise as the rest - though it is less expensive)...we've done it (we stayed in one of the spa rooms though)...NYNY has never appealed to me for any reason...I would stay at MC but hubby is meh about it.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

i'll let you know how it is (my second vegas trip report this year haha) but i dont expect any disruption whatsoever - building work never gets in the way of a good time in Vegas and they go to great lengths to make sure it's not getting in your way.

I see ferf has commented, just to add after reading vegaschatter etc, its doubtful it will ever be more than what it is right now0 -
Oh funny! I thought it was a bit too up strip to generate demand.
I passed the one by harrahs on the monorail in jan - it was no more than a big support beam then.
Will be interesting to see what it's like next month.
But I guess, at the of the day, it's just a big wheel. Saw one of those in Brighton on Saturday lol0 -

but only for a relatively short time as Dubai is building one too, which naturally will be the world's biggest!
and there's one going up in NYC, but that'll probably be after the Dubai one, not as big, but bigger than the Vegas one.
who knew ferris wheels would be the must-have accessory for cities?!0 -
oh cool - they've actually got the wheel itself up!
I wonder how Vegas will look in years to come. I remember when they were building CityCenter - now it seems everyone i speak to stays in the Cosmo suites for the experience.0 -

I think that big wheel has gone bust. Last 2 trips we have done 4 months apart there was no sign of anything being any further forward, and no sign of workmen or even cabins on site. Seems like someone had an idea but when Caesars threw all the money at the one behind the Linq they realised that there would be little traffic.
On an aside there is some massive work going on Koval behind Ph/Paris, some sort of new shopping centre opening up next year. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

I remember when they were building City Center too, the building noise kept me awake for 2 blooming weeks, I was seriously sleep deprived with staying at the Aladdin.
Trip report is on its way, I've just been so busy since we got back.0
