A lot of people obviously don't know that he's got a really successful show in Vegas and that this is the kind of music he does now then?

I still love him you must go and see his show in Vegas, it's a great night even if your not a fan!!

We walked past the Gossy lounge a couple of times and I couldn't believe how well he's done for himself! Swing music isn't really my thing, but I've seen clips of his show on the Vegas channel on the hotel bedroom tv and it does look like a good night. :)

i've been asked an interesting question, are the are any websites which allow you to pay in installments/take finance for a holiday... i'm thinking the high street travel agents, or online maybe co-op travel, virgin holidays, thomson, etc.

alternatively i guess you could get a 0% credit card, pay upfront and then pay off each month that way?

just wondering if there's any MSE advice I can pass on? :)

I paid a deposit with Thomas Cook for my Vegas trip next September (354 days to go!)

I'm then saving up between now and June when it has to be paid up - but putting the money into a savings account, then paying the balance of the holiday on its due date.

Won't gain much interest, but I figure its better in my account than giving it to them early!

    I'm having second thoughts...

We're booked into the MGM Grand for 5 nights - $75 food/drink credit per stay - total charge in a Premier King Room - $534. Now the second part of our LA stay (we're doing 2 nights LA, 5 nights LV, 2 nights San Diego and 2 nights LA) is costing way more than we expected (around the same as 5 nights in LV!) we're reconsidering the hotel for LV and lowcostusa is throwing up some insane pricing for our dates.

Just how are these hotels? We're not looking for anything major, just comfort - must admit, I think I massively underestimated the size of the MGM grand so I am kinda worried...

Anyone give any thoughts on the below options? I can't just ignore cutting my LV hotel bill in half if the option is there...

    LUXOR
Pyramid Deluxe King - $251 - inc resort fee
Tower Deluxe King - $349 - inc resort fee

    Monte Carlo
Deluxe Room - $289 - inc resort fee
Deluxe Room High Floor - $346 - inc resort fee
Deluxe Room Strip View - $402 - inc resort fee

    NYNY
Park Avenue - $329 - inc resort fee
Park Avenue Deluxe Strip View - $355 - inc resort fee
Madison Avenue - $386 - inc resort fee

Presumably there are no issues driving a car in this area like there might be at the West Rim?

Also tempted to try to see London Bridge and stop by Laughlin again. All a bit early to try to get time off organised I think, yet flights will be out soon and good options at the Canyon might get booked up?

We had no issues with unpaved roads in the Sedona area, no issues driving there at all. We were in a Ford Focus too so not 4 wheel drive.

We stopped off at London Bridge on the drive between Williams (where we had stayed for the Grand Canyon) and Big Bear Lake. Added time on to a very long drive but we were glad we did it.

We stopped in Jerome on our way up to Sedona which was a quirky place that may be worth a visit if you have time.

Thanks cottyh24. I can't remember the name of it, but I also read about a place with little donkeys wandering around the town. It sounded a bit different. I think it's somewhere between Sedona and Vegas, not exactly sure where but from memory might be a different road from the one down towards London Bridge and Laughlin so I doubt we'd do both.

It's Oatman...worth a visit, not really worth a special trip but we tied it up with a visit to Laughlin...it is something different and if you time it to be there for the shoot-out it's a bit of extra somewhat cheesy fun...I still have some Arizona Jalepeno salt I bought in a shop there. :)

And the burros are super friendly - loved them.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

    We love the burros too.

We got some lovely pics of a mother and baby in Blue Diamond village last year. They just roam around that village too.

We stayed in a Madison Avenue room in NYNY last time.
Good sized room, lovely view, easy to get from the room out onto the strip. Well connected via bridge to MGM and Excalibur. It's about as far down the strip as I would personally stay.
