  • Spoke too soon about not feeling jet lagged, have felt so tired for the last two days. Tossed and turned all night the night before last, just couldn't drop off.

TOWIV is on tonight. :p I've never watched TOWIE, but I'll probably watch this just because it's Vegas! :rotfl:

We've also talked about maybe flying to Phoenix, staying at Scottsdale a couple of nights and then driving on to Sedona or Flagstaff a night then over to Vegas. Would have to be a 2 week trip I think. I do wonder how hot it would be if we did that early September. If anyone has done the Phoenix-Grand Canyon-Vegas trip I would appreciate any info.

We haven't done that route but have been to Sedona which, along with much of the surrounding area, is stunningly beautiful and worth a visit.

There is another reason I think you would like it there. If I recall correctly you are vegetarian. Sedona is one of the few places I've visited in the US that had vegetarian options in every restaurant we looked at which meant I didn't have to spend ages checking menus online to make sure I can eat there. It is a bit of a spiritual mecca which may account for that.

We stayed at the Sky Ranch Lodge which located above the town by the (very small) airport. The accommodations were pretty standard but the grounds were lovely plus they have a sunset viewing area which saves having to stand with the crowds on the road.
  • i've been asked an interesting question, are the are any websites which allow you to pay in installments/take finance for a holiday... i'm thinking the high street travel agents, or online maybe co-op travel, virgin holidays, thomson, etc.

alternatively i guess you could get a 0% credit card, pay upfront and then pay off each month that way?

just wondering if there's any MSE advice I can pass on? :)

The credit card option was the answer I gave when the question was asked.

$2/3 per day, which is great when going for a week or so.

That looks perfect as we're only going for the 11 days. Do you have to manually top it up with the credit and can we pick up a sim when we get to LAX? If I can't do it in advance ill just have to sort it out the morning after we arrive :)

you can top it up online or over an automated service on the phone, i think. i got a pal in the States to post over a couple of sim cards, but think they're possible to pick up in-store, and you could top up then.

Hmmmm just put it on to record on ITV2+1, and turned it over to watch some. I've never watched TOWIE. I now know I've not missed much :rotfl:

Will persevere just for the views of Vegas though. :rotfl:

Thanks for that. Yes, you're correct regarding me being Vegetarian. Kevin is too, that said we do have different tastes at times so when there's one veggie option in a restaurant it can often suit one of us and not the other. I'll have a look at Sky Ranch Lodge.

Presumably there are no issues driving a car in this area like there might be at the West Rim?

Also tempted to try to see London Bridge and stop by Laughlin again. All a bit early to try to get time off organised I think, yet flights will be out soon and good options at the Canyon might get booked up?
  • A lot of people obviously don't know that he's got a really successful show in Vegas and that this is the kind of music he does now then?
