  • Nice restaurants?

What's a nice "romantic" restaurant in Vegas? I know of Mon Ami Gabi and Eiffel Tower restaurant but to be honest I'm not that keen on French food but the views look good! Are there any other nice restaurants with good food and a nice view?

Not really fussy when it comes to food we like Italian, Spanish, Mexican, American, Asian etc just not really French lol!

Hmmmm just put it on to record on ITV2+1, and turned it over to watch some. I've never watched TOWIE. I now know I've not missed much :rotfl:

Will persevere just for the views of Vegas though. :rotfl:

this is us too having just watched the first episode...with a bit of 'why do their teeth look like that?' thrown in from time to time. I'm a bit appalled that my hubby banned me from watching this before (he doesn't trust me and my tendencies toward what he considers terrible telelvision)...I appreciate that some people enjoy the show and that's fine - everyone likes different things, but it is just not my thing and I will watch it for Vegas but that's going to be it. I am completely lost about who is who too. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

    LUXOR
Pyramid Deluxe King - $251 - inc resort fee

    Monte Carlo
Deluxe Room High Floor - $346 - inc resort fee

    NYNY
Park Avenue Deluxe Strip View - $355 - inc resort fee
We've done the above 3 rooms... my vote would be for Monte Carlo - I find the whole place very underrated as a resort, and also in a great location whilst also feeling quite small (in fairness tho, I thought NYNY and Luxor seemed quite small too.)

Anyways, you have the walk through to Aria, tram to Bellagio, easy strolls to NYNY, and then Excalibur (and tram down to Mandalay Bay), and also to MGM

Is it comfortable? We thought so :) but I'll be honest, they all seemed comfortable :)

Is it worth $100 more than Luxor? hmmm, hard to say - the room is definitely newer, but it just feels like a hotel room where as with Luxor you're in pyramid, and with NYNY Strip View, you have the rollercoaster outside your room.

Sorry, the more I think about it, the more I find it difficult to give you a proper answer! :D a lot will come down to your personal expectations :)

Therein lies the problem, its our first ever trip to LV!

I find hotels in the US are pretty boring compared to the stuff we get in Europe (although I will say some of them are catching up quite quick...)

I'm just looking for something clean, comfortable and reasonably priced, with free self parking as we'll have a car all week (I've heard this isn't so much of an issue in any case as its all free in LV).

I've just cancelled off the hotel for the second part of our LA stay, really couldn't face paying $500+ for two nights in a Hyatt place!

NY NY has building work going on at the moment I read?

Out of those I'd probably go Monte Carlo too as I've not heard great things about Luxor.

I really fancied Vdara when I looked at it, if only they did rooms with 2 beds!

Also, if you've a car in LA then I'd just go for an airport hotel - you're going to spend so much time out and about that its really just a base. So not worth paying $500 for 2 nights!

Monte Carlo has building work at the min as well - i'm going 20th November for a few days with my mates.

i'll let you know how it is (my second vegas trip report this year haha) but i dont expect any disruption whatsoever - building work never gets in the way of a good time in Vegas and they go to great lengths to make sure it's not getting in your way.

Have you all seen the big wheel they are putting up outside Mandalay Bay? Its going to be humoungous and will have a digital screen in the middle facing the direction of landing planes - something along those lines anyway.

    sounds very vegas

NYNY has frontage work going on, so I am not so keen on that one.

Can't deny the MC is looking quite tempting - given the cost saving available.

The hotel I'd booked was at LAX - you have a whole heap of hotels round there, but you have to be very careful of fees - its crazy how many things some of the hotels there 'charge' for.

Going to spend a little while looking out hotels again in the LA area - we're arriving on a Monday morning - got the LA clippers Monday night and an all day tour Tuesday - so really its just a bed for what we're going to be there for....

Wow thats expensive for an airport hotel!

    Have you considered Priceline?

When I was in LA it was at the beginning/end of a Trek America trip so we stayed at the Hacienda. It was very cheap, but clean and there was a Starbucks across the road which was handy!
