Just back from 6nts in Vegas (3nts tropicana and 3nts palazzo - latter was unbelievable).
Some of the questions from last week I've got answers to as I did the papillon trip (just phoned them up one day - free calls included in resort fee), I saw penn and teller through tix4tonite and solved the wireless issues quite easily.
And to top it all we came back with $350 out of an original $1700 budget.
I'll pen a trip report as we came across some great cost cutting methods.
Hi, can't wait to find out about your trip. I will be there is 2 weeks and am busy planning my trip.

Could you tell me how much the papillon trip was, and how much the Penn and Teller tickets were?
Thanks a lot

My trip must be getting closer as the 90 day seat plan is available.
I have a question as there is only 2 of us travelling this time I have chosen 2 seats together at the back. I have picked the very back row and I know others on here have sat at the back before. Is there a preference for any of the back 4 rows as they are all still available.
In fact apart from my 2 seats there have been only another 2 seats allocated apart from the ones that are greyed out, it seems many people dont know that seats become choosable 90 days ahead0 -
The first thing I check is when can I book seats!!We have sat at the back a few times and always pick the very back ones, simply because hubby stands up behind we're there is a little window(toilets aswell!)The only down side of being at the back is you tend to be near the last at customs which as you know is always endless.Last year we sat in the seats directly behind P.E and it was like a little cabin of its own plus we were first off somehow and near the front at customs and believe it or not our cases came off first!!We are traveling from Manchester with VA in June but I don't know wether we will get a refurbished plane or not and if we do I will have to do some research into the best place to sit!!
Thanks for that,
Yes I know we will be at back of queue for customs, that will hurt as we have been first in queue the last few times we have been, but have always waited for cases, so thinking it wont make much difference overall.
I will try and get a front row economy seat at check in but not holding my breath0 -

Hi, going in August , 1 week in LA area and 2 weeks Vegas, I need somewhere with a washing machine as I think we will run out of clothes, or maybe someone knows of a laundrette near to the strip.
Thanks0 -
Our son has decided to come with us this time,he's never been before. So it's making us revisit some of the things we did the first couple of times we went that we haven't done since. We keep saying we will have to take him here and go and watch this and eat here again and to be honest we are really looking forward to seeing Vegas through his eyes and reliving that WOW feeling you have when you first go.Not looking forward to the flight with him though, coz he's 6'5" and OH isn't much shorter!Really looking forward to going to the Goratorium with him because OH won't go with me(he's a wuss)0

Sometimes the back row doesn't recline much - worth checking...also, depending on the layout, we have found that people waiting for the loos flump against the back of the aisle seat...which is extraordinarily annoying if you have just managed to doze off and get jolted awake...people don't really have much common sense with these things...also being right by the loos can be a bad thing because of wafting odours....people tend to congregate there as well and many times lean on the seats...we normally check seat guru and take it from there..any pair on its own is a win for us if most of the configuration is 3s or 4s or heaven forbid 5s...but we would normally not choose the very last row unless there was some benefit...if the recline is normal, benefit would be no worries about the person behind you at least.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

ooooh! An opportunity for laundry talk!Wizard of Suds is not far from the Strip - it's not posh, but there's a little convenience store with seating and a telly...also a few very old slots and VP machines.
Depending on your budget and whether you're willing to stay slightly off strip....you may find options with laundry on site or even in the room...having a washing machine and tumble dryer at Cosmo was one of the greatest things ever to me...but the room was the most expensive we have ever stayed in in Vegas as well...there are less expensive options with on-site laundry but a bit off strip...Platinum and Carriage House have been mentioned here before and multiple people have stayed at both and really like them.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I had thought all those things, neither of us recline our seats very much but i have checked and i think they fully recline.
the smells may be an issue and the congregating people may also be an issue, but they may both be outweighed by no one prodding us in the back of the head using the touch screens, and the row behind getting out of their seats and grabbing your headrest to get up.
I gather you would rather sit in a row further forward?
It is an upgraded 747 and there is 4 rows of 2 each side and all still available
