Looking forward to that report!0

Hi all - marsman looking forward to some more cost cutting methods!
I know this is really a 'how long is a piece of string question'... but anyway...
For the 2 nights when we arrive in Vegas, I can get Ballys/Flamingo for ~£65... or the Signature for a total £139 (inclusive of resort fees).
There is a battle raging between my inner cheapskate and my love of luxury sheets...
Is the Signature worth double the price of Ballys? What would you do?!0 -
I haven't stayed at Signature, but for 2 nights I would probably consider it. Which tower at Bally's? Regardless, their linens are not very nice we've found lately...and their pillows are crap.
We still stay there - but even notice a big difference in that sort of thing the nights we stay at TI.
Do all the rooms at Signature have kitchenettes? Not that that would be a huge thing for 2 nights anyway.
Also at Bally's and Flamingo you'll have internet charges if you want access...so that would add a bit to the price.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Thanks ferf, good point about the internet, think its something stupid like $15 for 24 hrs. Not sure which tower, I just got the rate for the cheapest rooms using the codes on 'lasvegasadvisor'.
The signature is a suite with kitchen, just having a coffee maker/kettle probably makes it worth it, come to think about it!0 -
yes, agree...assume the Bally's room would be south tower though chance of an upgrade...as many times as we have stayed at Bally's and do find it quite comfortable - for 2 nights for £139 including resort fee to have the kitchen and a suite - even if not a proper suite with separate bedroom - would probably be worth it to us...not very MSE but sometimes it's value for money rather than actual money spent to me...for a week or longer, not sure I would feel the same but for a couple of nights I think I would. Are you staying elsewhere in Vegas during your trip? I have a brain like a sieve lately.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

We've got these first 2 nights still to book, and I have booked 2 nights at the end of our trip at planet hollywood (£115, includes a friday). That's cancellable though if I see something better.
In between we are hiring a car and road tripping it round California. (Nothing booked yet argh)0 -

Would love to meet Chumlee!
They've just announced signing sessions so your odds are increased. Contrary to popular belief, they are in the store a lot as they are filming a lot. But chances of meeting them are anyone's guess. We went last year and missed them, but if we'd have gone a day either side, we'd have seen them!
The store itself really isn't that interesting, there's no more to see than you see on the show... But it's just very cool to be in the store if you're a fan, and to have some photos taken. 15mins in the shop and you're done!
There is usually a cab or two in the parking lot, so getting back to the strip isn't too hard. It's only a stone's throw from the North Outlet mall, so worth considering.0 -
When I did the Marathon in December, the pawn guys were in the doorway cheering us on. The store really is tiny.
You can get off the bus and walk to it.0 -
I booked 5 nts Excalibur and 5 nts Luxor last night direct with the hotels...
Then emailed them screenshots and URL's to the prices advertised with QuickRooms.com which INCLUDE the resort fee's....
I'll post the replies once i get them...
On another note, if you followed the 'Upto 55% off' link for rooms at the Excalibur, it shows that a Tower Queen double with the 'upto 55% off' added to the wording, is more expensive than the normal listing for the same room ?!! go figure!!!!!!!
Also, they are showing the contemporay rooms cheaper than the normal rooms, yet the 'contemp' rooms are the modern ones, which makes me think Tower 2 ? strange!!!!0 -
My trip must be getting closer as the 90 day seat plan is available.
I have a question as there is only 2 of us travelling this time I have chosen 2 seats together at the back. I have picked the very back row and I know others on here have sat at the back before. Is there a preference for any of the back 4 rows as they are all still available.
In fact apart from my 2 seats there have been only another 2 seats allocated apart from the ones that are greyed out, it seems many people dont know that seats become choosable 90 days ahead0
