  • Great reports littlemissbossy, I'll archive them soon!

Great to hear you still have an appetite to go back a 7th time... Just out of interest what sort of things are you already thinking of doing/planning?

That might give some inspiration to others (and me!) and be ammunition for anyone that thinks they've seen and done it all after a couple of trips :)
  • Hello everyone.....Having avoided looking around as we knew we would not be able to visit Vegas this year we have now decided that next year is a goer!!! :-)

Just wondering what sorts of bargain flight prices have been snapped up by MSE's this year. I think last year we payed around 1200 for the 2 of us which was with Delta from Manchester and stopped at Atlanta. I looked earlier today and found £568 (i think) with 1 stop from London in May of 2014. Seems reasonable to me but as we haven't been looking i thought I would consult the experts.

We generally just walk past the coca cola shop but this year we went upstairs and for $5 we got 16 samples of cola from all over the world, and the 3 of us sat and tried them all,it was fun as most of them were foul and had no resemblence to cola as we know it!!!

We never have any problems at customs but this year in June was so funny. We were off the plane first being upstairs so by the time we walked into the customs hall there was only about 20 people in front of us,but lots behind us.We were waiting our turn near the front when this very loud customs lady directed us to no.5 booth. Then she looked at me and my very large son (6'6") and exclaimed at the very top of her voice "Oh my Gawd look at you with your baby, how cute!! my son was dying of shame and still she was shouting" everyone look at him with his momma".Everyone in front of us turned to have a look( well you would wouldnt you).and people behind us were laughing ,so when we walked up to the interragtion man he just smiled and said " He sure is a big baby"and laughed and joked with us!!!

yes we've been doing that for a few years now and they do still quiz one or both of us a bit...but no real issues at all, just business as usual.
Sorry, I read your post as though you went through the other line with hubby.

Do you know, if someone with the authority to give me the rubber glove treatment asked me HOW MANY DAYS I was in Vegas for twice, and I replied by not answering the question, and obviously trying to act smart, I would expect to be on the next flight home, just not worth it.

I always find the immigration agents in Vegas really pleasant, more so then most other US airports, and miles better than the ones at Heathrow.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

this is well worth doing for anyone who's not tried it... but definitely order a regular coke or plan to go for some food after (we hit the food court next door straight away as we HAD to have something savoury :D)

is it "beverley" the clear one? wow. how FOUL! some of them are stinkers... it's like fizzy pop russian roulette :D

I don't think we've ever been upstairs before either? Did you notice if they had coke zero in glass bottles? The hubby reckons coke tastes nicer out of glass bottles! He's peeved everytime the advert comes on, showing it in the bottles, yet you can't seem to buy them anywhere, apart from cash and carrys I think?

ferf I have told you before, bring him through the u.s. line with you, there are no problems doing that. I have done it with Tracy every single time and they never bat an eyelid.

I'm a bit puzzled....where is Tracy from? Never noticed an accent when we spoke.

Thanks for the nice comments everyone, I was a bit hesitant about doing a trippy, I'm more of a behind the scenes long time lurker and after reading other trippies they've always sounded a lot more wild and exciting than my holidays.

As for next time, 3 of the 4 shows we'd seen before so might? give them a miss next time but we will DEFINITELY see Michael Jackson One again. I don't really like to recommend things to people as everyone has different expectations and likes but both me and John thought it was amazing!

We've seen Celine Dion twice and really enjoyed her shows but she wasn't on when we were there, unfortunately she hadn't announced her Autumn show dates and we really needed to book our hols due to work so we'd like to see her show again. Maybe give Zarkana at the Aria a try, and I'd quite like to see Matt Goss (being of a certain age), but John changes the subject when I mention it for some reason?

My absolute dream would be to see Muse there, I've had really bad luck with their American dates, we had a holiday in Florida 5th March 13 and they played in Florida 25th Feb 2013. Then they played Mandalay Bay 17th March 2013, talk about bad timing. ETA Oh yeah and I forgot they're now playing at iHeart Festival at MGM on Friday.

After that, not really sure, just being there is such a buzz and so different from our everyday lives!
Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it.

I worded it badly - I go through together with him, not through 'his line'. In reality we normally go to whichever queue is shorter which is usually the American citizens line. :) I haven't been to an immigration desk in the UK in years due to IRIS but I recall them being about the same over here...no-nonsense, strictly business...as I would expect.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
