Even single trip insurance will cover you between booking and travelling if you have an accident at home before the date of travel.0

Thanks, didn't realise.I just assumed that because it asked you for a start date and end date, it just covered you for that.

As pebbles says, you are covered for cancellation in the event of illness or accident from the date you take the policy out. Travel insurance should be bought as soon as the travel is booked.
There are numerous posts in this forum and the insurance forum from people like yourself who were "going to get it nearer the time" then themselves or a close relative was diagnosed with a serious illness and they weren't covered which meant they lost everything.
Remember to declare any pre-existing medical conditions if that applies, eg asthma, high blood pressure, anything you have consulted a doctor about. Some ask for this information for the past 2 years other say, "Have you ever suffered from......"0 -
Typically I will use the game feeds app to collect free chips, then log in, collect strip money, then spend it all playing max bets (auto spins)on one of the games.
As others have said, bet small until you have built your hotel, and being a low level, you have an advantage. This is a breakdown of spins needed for LP's:
Level 57 and below
150 chip bets x 21 spins= 3,150 chips for 10 loyalty points
170 chip bets x 20 spins= 3,400 chips for 10 loyalty points
200 chip bets x 11 spins= 2,200 chips for 10 loyalty points
300 chip bets x 11 spins= 3,300 chips for 10 loyalty points
340 chip bets x 11 spins= 3,740 chips for 10 loyalty points
400 chip bets x 11 spins= 4,400 chips for 10 loyalty points
600 chip bets x 6 spins= 3,600 chips for 10 loyalty points
1000 chip bets x 6 spins= 6,000 chips for 10 loyalty points
1500 chip bets x 5 spins= 7,500 chips for 10 loyalty points
One thing though, you say you use a game feeds app to collect free chips. If you still manually click on each link, you are fine. However if it is automated, be aware it is against the TOS and you run a high risk of your account being restricted.
Good luck0 -

But 5 spins is so much quicker than 21!

While I can understand the reason for holding off on an annual policy (to have the policy last longer after a holiday that might be way in the future), I don't see any reason for holding off on a single trip policy whatsoever. I would never take the insurance with my holiday though.
As Luci says, also be aware of pre-existing medical conditions. A lot of us have something that should probably be declared, and often it doesn't cost any extra. For example I have had gastritis a couple of times so I tend to carry Omeprazole tablets with me just in case. I have declared this and there's no extra cost, even though gastritis is liked to ulcers etc. I'm glad I don't get charged. My husband has recently been diagnosed with a heart condition, and the insurance want to charge us to upgrade to include his pre-existing (£80). We found out about this after booking for Vegas (and another holiday we went on in June). The upgrade is going onto an annual policy, and the quote lasts 3 months. We have decided to wait until after Vegas to take the upgrade. We won't travel again without it, and we have booked for Thailand after finding out about the condition. We want the upgrade to cover our likely Vegas trip next September though. It's not urgent because he's not unwell (it's a hereditary condition and was only discovered because of a family member having it and although they can see he has it, he has no symptoms of the illness). It's low risk for us to wait a few weeks now to arrange the cover for a January trip. At the end of the day if anything happens I'd be more worried about him than the Thailand cost anyway.
We have never given any family medical issues however, which could also require top up cover - we've had family members with heat conditions and kidney failure etc, but fortunately the timings haven't been an issue, and I have a feeling it might have cost a fortune to cover all of these.
I would urge everyone to have cover though, as Luci says there are various people on the forums that seem to be unaware that they need the cover in the months running up to their holiday. If you personally fall ill in the weeks before your trip you're going to be gutted that you didn't pay for the policy a few weeks earlier.0 -
Did I mention that I go to Vegas in 4 days!!! We were doing a bit of planning last night, writing everything out on our little planner. I need to reprint it though, we've changed quite a few things (car hire dates, added shows which change our dinner ideas etc).
It's all rather exciting. I should really start packing properly soon. The poor suitcases are sitting there patiently0 -

We usually do get it at the time of booking the holiday, it just slipped our mind this time. I said I'd sort it because I wanted to go through a cashback site, the ones I tried wouldn't track on the iPad (safari), so I kept on meaning to do it on the PC that is connected to the TV, but as I hardly ever have the TV on during the day, I keep on forgetting, but like I say, will sort out today for sure!0 -

Not holding off Lesley, just have a mind like a sieve! Would never travel without it.0 -
