Hey just remembered for those of you staying at Platinum. sign in at foursquare and show your phone to the bartender and you get the cocktail of the day free.
Edit: Scrub that, seems as though its not on anymoreThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
Aww, at least you will get to meet Lesley, take some pics for her to show me.
As for Terry Fator. I am really hard to please, unbelievably so. ( I think the Hover Dam is quite small in real life) I loved Penn and Teller on the TV but live I thought they were quite poor and boring.
So don't take too much notice of me if other peeps think he was good. Now the only act in Vegas I would pay to see again is Carrot Top.
Lesley, we will be the ones by the pool sipping home brew cocktails THROUGH catheters.
That's an act that's never appealed to me, I'm not sure why,he just doesn't look like he'd be funny? Then again, everyone seems to like Lee Evans, that he's hilarious, I just don't see the appeal myself?
Penn and Teller never really appealed to me either until I saw them on TV on their show, and Penn on Celebrity Apprentice, and because of that, I decided I wanted to see them, we're going to go and see them when we go end of September.0 -
Has anyone been to the Neon Boneyard? If so, was it good, and where abouts is it exactly? Is it somewhere that you have to get to yourself, or are there organised tours?0

We avoided comedy shows for the first few years of going to Vegas as I don't "get" American humour.
However we went to see Carrot Top and he was hilarious. There were a couple of things I didn't understand as I don't watch American TV, but hubby had tears rolling down his face.
It's a really small theatre with only 13 rows so no need to book prime, VIP or whatever they call them tickets.0 -

Booked online, it can sell out on walk ups.
Its really close to Fremont Street, there is a ticket office where people buy t-shirts, assemble for their slot, before one of the tour guides walks you through the yard.
We really enjoyed it.
The second part of the tour is a map of restored signs around Fremont Street which you do by yourself, and was also interesting.0 -

Finally we agree on something
Not the Hoover Dam as that is an impresive lump of concrete.
Carrot Top was soooo funny especially with free tickets from the Burger Bar, waitress gave away at least half a dozen pairs about half hour before the show :T:T0 -

That wasn't showing up for me on the specials when I checked the other day... I'm not sure it's still on
Just checked and you seem to be right. But last time it was really hard to find, I think we actually had to be in the building and it showed up so give it a whirl. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. I hated Carrot Top's commercials and movie(s) in US in the 90s - could not bear him - but we also thought his Vegas show was absolutely hilarious. It's been years and we keep saying we should go again as I am sure he changes it up quite a bit.
we also really liked Penn & Teller though I know quite a few people weren't that impressed with their show.
I think that Jeff Civilico is also really funny and cheap tickets can be had...we went with pebbles a couple of trips ago when she was able to pick up free tickets when they had that offer (not sure if they still do - I know you can get 'comp' tickets through goldstar but there is a handling fee...we laughed so much, even though some of it was the same as when we saw him with Nathan Burton. We would go again.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
