Stoneman - just make sure it's happy hour. Got to love happy hour at Stir :)

We'll look out for the two athletes at the pool with their own cocktails and catheters. :p

Shame about Terry Fator...it was looking like a good idea. Another thing we were looking at is the LA comedy club (on groupon or living social for $23 for 2). I'm sure it will be fine, the bad reviews seem to be about the drinks package whereby you basically don't get served very quickly and can't get your money's worth).

I'm so jealous of you near departers...hope you both have a good time!

My current favorite casino is probably TI because I normally do really well there. :) Agree that there is a nice vibe about Bellagio and while I think the hotel is overrated I do like the casino...and it's the only MGM property that seems to not kill us.

We had great fun at South Point last trip (I think it was last trip)...and very profitable.

As for Ka and Terry Fator we liked both of them...neither were up there in our favourites but enjoyed both (got excellent deals for both as well).

We have Zarkana booked through My Vegas and I'm 3,000 gold coins from having enough for O...but either they changed it or we never noticed it's Thursday/Friday only which is mildly annoying and had we realised we would probably not have booked Zarkana for the Saturday as a friend of mine may be in town Thurs-Sun and it will feel mean to book 2 shows during that period.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

i have had an absolute nightmare since booking my flights, that'll teach me for not speaking to my boss before I did!

Fortunately the work trip clash is off, so we're back on for our dates :D

I am looking at hotels at the moment, we're flying into LAX and staying that night and the next before heading over to LV (if anyone has any recommendations for LA hotels please share, have car, will travel).

The LV stuff is now a case of go big or go home, we've decided as its the first trip then it'll be the strip - as long as its free to park up as we're going to have the car the whole time...so we've got a shortlist, primarily because these are the best offers we can extract from websites/lists/smartervegas....

The prices below are all in, including resort fee for the dates we're going, even with cashback and booked locally in £ I am pretty sure these prices can't be beat...especially the MGM suites seem crazy cheap...prices are for four nights, check in Monday to check out Friday (as we're off to the Grand Canyon and staying in a hotel up there on the Friday).

    MGM Grand
    Grand King - $483.84 - n/a
    Grand King Strip View - $501.76 - n/a
    Executive King Suite - $507.36 - 675sq
    Tower Spa Suite - $542.08 - 694sq

    Treasure Island
    Deluxe Room - $427 - 400sq
    Deluxe Strip View - $481 - 400sq
    Petite Suite - $642.76 - 630sq
    Tower Suite - $750.28 - 930sq

    Mirage
Resort King - $431.20 - 394sq (inc. $75 resort credit and view upgrade)

    Monte Carlo
Deluxe Room - $327.92 (inc. $50 resort credit)
High Floor Deluxe - $363.76 (inc. $50 resort credit)
Strip View Deluxe - $399.60 (inc. $50 resort credit)

    Signature @ MGM
    Deluxe - $457.85 -550sq
    One Bed Suite/Balcony - $592.25 - 950sq

So thoughts peeps?, currently the MGM is in the lead (as its a stonking deal for a suite I think...) - but don't want to miss out on something similar as an alternative...or with that MGM deal am I on the money?

    TIA

    have you checked lowcostusa prices

Stoneman - are you at the Platinum? We will be there 8-14th.

Only 1 week and 5 days to go....

We have totally gone off the idea of Zarkana. It would seem it has a snake part in it, not to my liking! I believe Zumanity also has snakes in it. We might consider seeing Ka. I'm seriously thinking about booking tickets for Terry Fator now, watched a video on youtube he looks really funny. Anyone seen this show?

Snakes?! That would be a big no no for me too!

Terry Fator looks like it would be a good show. :)

ferf - can you remember how much you paid for Ka and Terry Fator? Would be good to know if we're getting a good price booking from here, or whether we should wait and try the ticket booths. If anyone happens to know the ticket booth price for Terry Fator it would be helpful. We are likely to try to see that while at Palazzo Venetian during our first week.

    have you checked lowcostusa prices

I've looked, but they are so cheap - I mean even the above are mostly from the smarter vegas rates.

The MGM is throwing up $507 for an executive king suite but low cost use is throwing up $357 equivalent.

Something really doesn't seem right with lowcostusa prices, they just seem far too cheap. I don't want to ring to be told ahh no, actually that price has just changed....

I am not ferf but will go for it anyway.

Paid $55 for KA in a summer of cirque promotion (it is on most years)

    http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/en/promo/summer-las-vegas/default.aspx

think they may only show a month at a time these days

Cant remember Terry Fator price but it was a fair discount off the ticket price but we didn't queue at the ticket booths but went straight to the Mirage box office and asked if they had any discount tickets, and they discounted there and then

I laughed until I cried at TF
