I never hire a car on landing as I tend to loose track of my on board drinks and worry ill be over limit!0 -
Hi all, found this fantastic resource, if, like me, you struggle to get your bearings.
Various casino hotel maps and layouts and strip maps. It's interesting to figure out whereabouts some things are.

Hi, i wondered if anyone could give me some advice on hotels as I'm sending myself dizzy loookong at all the different sites/reviews/offers!
We are flying into Vegas on 29.6.13 and staying 2 nights before heading off on a road trip around Arizona and Utah. We have been to Vegas twice before, once in 2000 and again in 2007, staying at Excalibur and Luxor respectively, both were OK at the time, although I understand that Excalibur has gone down hill. This time I really wanted a more mid strip location and fancied either the Bellagio or Venetian, but sadly both are out of our price range:( I've looked at The Mirage and Monte Carlo, has anyone stayed at either of these hotels before? If so what did you think.
I'm also tempted by the Travel Zoo offer for Vdara, but as we're going at the most expensive time, that's still a bit over budget. We won't be gambling as we'll have a 17yr old in tow so the lack of casino here isn't an issue, but as we're staying for such a short time, is it worth the extra expense?0 -

Thank you, thank you! I used to love looking at that site and then it disappeared - I looked for it a few months ago when someone had a question about something specific within a hotel and could not find it. I really like the property maps especially when I'm going somewhere I do not know very well just to pick something like tickets up...or planning a place to meet hubby if we're starting out on our own for the day.
It's also really handy for room photos

based on the slightly odd URLs I wonder if something has happened with the site and it's maybe in limbo? As it's not vegascasinoinfo.com anymore?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Never thought of this, thankyou! Just mentioned this to the OH and it seems we are now getting a taxi :rotfl::rotfl:
It is something most people forget assume you have a drink with meal possibly two meals plus two more on top could easily make u borderline especially if u factor in exhaustion and dehydration on board0 -

I gt the vdara travelzoo offer really good price, have you looked at ballys? Trump gets good reviews if staying with under 21s but nt on the strip0 -

I don't normally have more than one drink on the plane but the last few trips we have skipped picking up the car at the airport on arrival (only to park it for the rest of the day) and just pick up the following day...as the driver it is sooo much nicer to me to just jump in a taxi and get to the hotel and not have the additional faff of getting the car.
Only downside is we used to set out quite early the first morning as we had the car...now we time pick up to work with our intended drop off time so we don't pay for an extra day....so now we do not normally pick the car up until 2-3pm so we just wander until then...then the WalMart run.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
The Gunstore on E Tropicana, defo worth a trip, were going back to that place in May !
You get a $5 discount from the books, and spend say $130, that gets you 2 rifles and 1 handgun ! 1 ammo clip per gun mind...
We caught a bus there before as cheaper than a cab
A good place for BBQ food (means using a car or cab), is to goto 'Memphis Championship BBQ', they got a few out there, but closest is on E. Warm Springs Rd......
Mmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm !!
Absolutely agree with Stuie on this one - we got married and did similar to what the OP wants 2 years ago. Hubby loves the Gunstore and we took a couple of trips out to Memphis BBQ (HUGE portions though so seriously think about splitting it - their honey butter is immense on the fresh rolls and cornbread, also makes a great brekkie the next day if you get your leftovers boxed to go).
In terms of steak, I would highly recommend Society Cafe (Encore) for their bone-in cowboy ribeye. Not one that comes up regularly in reviews but immense taste and quality of meat. Best steak we have ever had (and we are big carnivores!), so much so we returned the following year to treat our wedding guests to it as part of our reception later that night in the Encore.:staradmin There is no normal, only typical :staradmin0
