When does the ML thing start? I've seen him a few times and done the bat tour just as it was his last tour of the uk
I NEED DATES LOL!!
Thinking back to the GC thing, i want to do it as its on my list, if its not as good as expect then oh well..need to find out for myself and thinking we are going to go with helicopter if we do it as we would save loads more time
I have been to GC, Yosemite, Death Valley, Zion, Bryce etc etc.
I drove to GC BUT stayed 2 nights there.
I know others say it is a hole in the ground and that Yosemite is better, Zion is better etc
In my Opinion nothing prepares you for that first sight of the GC, again IMO it is truly jaw dropping
Would I go on such a short trip to Vegas? probably not0 -
ML's residency starts 25th September and he's there for 6 weeks. We fly in on the 25th, but we're usually too tired to go anywhere on the first night.0

Re: large meals - I always think of US restaurants serving up large meals too... we've had quite chunky meals at Senor Frogs (@TI - where the missus only wanted a small salad and ended up leaving over half of it) and I also thought the meal was quite sizeable at Grand Luxe Cafe too --- but its' a good few years since we went so might be my mind playing tricks! Also Peppermill as mentioned- oh and Maggiano's do a quite large and relatively cheap meatballs from memory!
Re: Roo's n More (sorry, i'm playing catchup!) - we went last year - must've only stayed for an hour as it was August so a tad warm, but was quite cool - they had a little monkey running around the place which scared the missus, but they let us hold a baby 'roo and that was quite cool!as ferf mentioned (I think), it's not a big glamorous place, but there's plenty to see in what is quite a small area

seeing objects once more is worth it hehe!
Ok, We fly into Vegas for 15:30...will we be feeling lively enough you reckon to go out on the evening? Would you suggest having a quick nap or try and power thru? I want to see a band called steel panther on Saturday evening (they only play Saturdays) at the house of blues! I make it sound like all i want to do is see bands but its honestly not lolHalifax loan - 6800 - 198 DD a month

I love Steel Panther! They're hilarious but also they're actually really good muscians too. We saw them when they were supporting Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard at the MEN.
I'm sure I read somewhere that they don't come on stage until midnight at the HOB's? Usually I would say on the first night you're usually really tired from travelling, but, in this case as it'd be your only chance to see them, then maybe adrenalin might get you through it! :rotfl:
Eta: I'd probably try and have a quick nap before hand.0 -
that's interesting... I was sure I'd seen rumours of Britney Spears being lined up for something there (as well?)

Apparently Britney Spears is going to have a 2 years residency at Caesars Palace. I'm not a fan of hers, but I do like some of her songs, I reckon she'll be really popular.ETA: Just ignore that, just googled it, and youre right, apparently it is going to be at PH.

A suite with a balcony sounds a good deal at the Riv (if they are cheap) are you going to share how to ensure that you can get one
The balcony was lovely last time. I spent time chilling there with the Lapps (free wifi in the suites)
They will block off a particular room if you ask a few weeks ahead.
I like the Riv. It's old style Vegas without the trek to Fremont .I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

remember that 1530 Vegas time will be 2330 UK time and if the band come on at midnight as georgie says then it will be 0800, not sure about you as you are younger but no way could I do it.0 -

I've done show the first night starting at 8 and enjoyed it. I think for an 11ish arrival I would have to nap first.
I never wear a watch except when I'm flying so I can put it on Vegas time as soon as I board as it really helps me deal with jet lag if my brain is on Vegas time during the flight .....works for me anywayI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
