Re: Elara - Stunning room - we had the 1-room suite last year just after the switch over to Hilton. Would recommend it.

As for MyVegas, I got about 320k LPs having already booked a 2-night Tower Suite @ the Mirage but dont know what to go for, the shows seem to be best value outwith the rooms, none of the food & drink options are standing out with the probable exception of the Bellagio buffet.

Any suggestions?

Quick post regarding the CoPilot free GPS. Wondered why it wouldn't speak to me, its because the free version only includes maps.....you need to pay to add in the turn by turn voices. Dunno how much, but cant be more than hiring a US GPS or buying one in Walmart when I arrive.

Booked car rental with eBookers in the end. Looked at the CH3000 guarantee, but was the equivalent of a 10 page essay, and they still had no Quidco, so why the hell would I write an essay and still end up paying more.

The best thing about having your own GPS (or GPS app) in advance is the ability to setup all your POIs and familiarise yourself before you get there.

I've used the CoPilot app on several trips now and it works great. It's £6.99 in the iTunes app store for the premium version with the voice navigation.

Question to anyone who's tried scanning the codes in Vegas (may be a daft one, I have no clue!). When you scan the codes, do you have to be connected to the internet?

I've got an old i-phone 3gs that I'm going to download Viva MyVegas. I'm going to buy one of the T-Mobile sim cards but I'd rather use that in my current phone (my current phone's got a micro sim but my i-phone's got a normal one so I can't just swap them over). Will I be able to scan the codes using my old i-phone then activate them once I'm back in the room and on wifi?

Yeah, you need internet for it to 'validate' the code you scan (and then present the wheel)

You could always set up your 'current phone' as a wifi hotspot, and then just connect to it from your iPhone 3G.

It does depend on your current phone having wifi hotspot functionality, and you being ok carrying two phones around though!

I think I've worked out a solution that will mean I can get away with one phone in my bag and one in the room safe though - I took a picture of a code from the Facebook page with my new phone, then scanned the picture with my i-phone and it seemed to work (was expired but the app recognised it). Will probably only win free chips but it's worth a shot!
