We went to The Gun Store on E. Trop Ave - http://thegunstorelasvegas.com/
We did the Zombie package, which was brilliant fun and the staff were pretty great. My trip report is linked on the first page and there's a pic too.

Or even better, book somewhere with a cancel policy of say upto 4pm. Book each night as a separate booking so its not cancelling the whole lot.

Agree but they will probably be limited to the the chain sort of places not far from the Strip...which in the circumstances may be just fine if they don't mind where they end up...I would never ever ever turn up in Vegas with no hotel booked...folks here have seen rates shoot up dramatically and unexpectedly when some sort of event is announced (boxing usually)...those with rooms already booked have been able to breathe easy and those who haven't have gone into panic mode.

  • Hi gang,

Looking to book flights for another venture in 2013.

Last time I went was November 2011 - prices appear to have increased considerably. It appears cheapest to travel via Belfast indirect now?

Any other suggestions for flights in the £4-500 region? (for Sept/Oct 2013)

    Many thanks,

The Gunstore on E Tropicana, defo worth a trip, were going back to that place in May ! :D:D
You get a $5 discount from the books, and spend say $130, that gets you 2 rifles and 1 handgun ! 1 ammo clip per gun mind...
We caught a bus there before as cheaper than a cab :)

A good place for BBQ food (means using a car or cab), is to goto 'Memphis Championship BBQ', they got a few out there, but closest is on E. Warm Springs Rd......

use skyscanner to get month-by-month best-priced costs...

I use OPODO to check flights daily but always book direct with the Airline (after a very bad experiance in NY many years ago I only book things direct)
Flights for Sept are around £640 at the moment (US Airways via Philly) we have just booked as we got a deal offer on our hotel so whilst I hate paying that for flights overall it comes in at what we normally pay.

  • Hi there, this is my first post so please excuse me if the question has been asked before, though I have spent the past two days trawling through some of the previous years posts :D

We are traveling to Vegas for the first time at the end of March, staying at the Bellagio for 7 nights.

We are planning on taking our spending money in equally in cash $ and on a pre paid credit card.

Has anyone ever had any problems using these in Vegas, it won't be used as for our room deposit, but purely for spending money.

I only ask as we had problems using our Natwest debit card in Mexico last year and dont want to be faced with the same problem.

Many Thanks in advance for your help, this thread has given us some really good tips. :T

The only time I had an issue with withdrawing cash from an ATM I tried another machine at a different location and it was fine so always assumed it was an issue with the machine itself...though we haven't used prepaid cards that often.

Most ATMs in Vegas do have reasonably hefty charges though - most casino ATMs will charge $4.99 or thereabouts...though there are options that charge less...but probably worth maximizing value of each withdrawal and not taking bits at a time.

One other thing to keep in mind is that chip and PIN isn't used (at least not widely) in the US...and many places will want to see a photo ID when a CC is used for payment.
