Hi all
I have read the first post and I'm just looking for some tips really.
7 friends and I are going on a 3 week California-area roadtrip ending in Vegas. We'll probably be there around April 16th - 18th (which is midweek) and fly home on the 21st which is a Sunday. I can't be precise about dates as we're playing it by ear to an extent. We're not booking most of our accomodation in order to give ourselves the freedom to spend longer in certain places or conversely, to move on if we want to.
I see that the first post says if we just roll up we can expect to pay the top prices; does anyone have any tips for which are going to be the least painful?
We're not looking to spend too much money if we can help it! It may be that we can book somewhere a few days before we arrive in Vegas, but if anyone has any tips it would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
I will share the cautionary tale of my friends. They were doing a California road trip, and arrived in LV on spec. The only hotel they could afford was Circus Circus which was selling rooms at $240 / night :eek:0 -

Hey everyone,
My fiance and I have just booked our holiday to Vegas for 2013. We are flying with Virgin from LGW on Oct 26th, staying in the Signature @ MGM Grand.
We are total newbies to LV, and we are also going to get married whilst we are out there. We are looking to do a few things whilst we are there, so I'am looking for some recs if possible.
My fiance wants to visit a shooting range, we also want to try a good steakhouse (have heard good things about Envy?) and also a good BBQ restaurant if there is one.
What are the chance of getting an upgrade at the hotel? We are booked into a deluxe suite, but we told Virgin that we were visiting to get married and they said they would put a note on our booking for the hotel? Any experience of this would be great.
We definitely want to visit the Grand Canyon, probably a bus tour as neither of us drive, who are good to book with and are they really expensive?
How much spending money is needed for 5 days on average? We were thinking of $1500-$2000?
Thanks in advance
There are a couplf of shooting ranges, not sure if they are linked in the first few posts.
Envy is good but not the best according to reviews.
Gordon Ramsey Steak may be a goof option for an extra special honeymoon meal
Ellis island for BBQ (well ribs and chicken)
I have only driven to the GC.
Spending money is an impossible question to answer.
Spend as much or as little as you can afford. meals can be Mcdonalds for a $ or lavish $100s a head.
If you want to gamble do you gamble $10 a day or a $1000 a day.0 -

Thanks Photome, We def won't be gambling 1000's maybe 100 max. Food wise, we were planning on large breakfasts, maybe buffets, and then mid-range restaurants in the evening.0 -

breakfast buffets range from about $5 a head off strip to around $20 a head on strip.

Dont really do mid range restaurants but guessing $50 a head would be about right0 -
Havent seen it mentioned but may have just missed it.
The Fremont streetexperience coupons are no longer available for free.
The ones where the was a bogof at MSS buffet
They are now available in the LVA members book though
that's a shame...though we do normally buy the LVA membership, it was nice to have the MSS option as a bonus...I haven't even looked at this year's MRB too closely, I should do that soon.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Or even better, book somewhere with a cancel policy of say upto 4pm. Book each night as a separate booking so its not cancelling the whole lot.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

my hubby just noticed this.
go to https://www.imperialpalace.com (we know it's now 'The Quad' but many people won't).
where does it take you?
That's right...Boyd Gaming...not The Quad...not CET's website...Boyd's website.
Registrant:
Boyd Gaming Corporation 6465 S. Rainbow Blvd Las Vegas, NV 89118 US Domain Name: IMPERIALPALACE.COM
They did buy a property outside Vegas called the IP Biloxi (I think)...so maybe IP Biloxi was part of the CET empire and part of the deal was they would release the domain when The Quad was renamed...maybe? Or else someone's in big trouble in whatever part of the CET group domain name registration is meant to be kept up to date.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
