great trip report, Stuie - and love the photos.
always nice to see someone getting bitten by the Vegas bug.
thanks for taking the time to post and sounds like you had a fantastic trip!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

It's obviously all very relative to what you want to do, where you want to eat, etc...but £1200 is say $1800 or over $250/day each which is probably a lot more than some people take and a bit less than others...but you'll need to be careful if playing tables as finding low limit tables may be somewhat difficult - you may need to go a bit away from mid-strip to find lower limit tables.
And obviously shopping can seriously eat into a budget...or do almost no damage at all, just depending on the person and the shops at the time.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

As Ferf says what you take is relevant to what you can afford to lose, low limit tables are harder to find on the strip, depending on what game you like to play.
For a really low limit roullette table head down to El Cortez 25c chips and $1 minimum, was great fun a few weeks ago0 -
Thanks guys. Personally I have never even entered a casino and so I think the only game I could play is roulette or I would play on the slots. Not sure about boyfriend but obviously his money is his own to do what he wants with.
I am not a big shopper, just may end up buying some trainers or clothes if the deals are good.
We do hope to go clubbing though, I reckon that will be expensive :eek:0 -

My little tip - if you head towards the casinos during the day that have the club you wish to go to you can get loads of money off.
We wanted to go to PURE @ Caesars and wondered over during the day - saw a guy outside the front entrance and got put on the guestlist, got my wife free entry and me discount entry. also, she got to drink for free until midnight.
This is Vegas - the home of the discount.0 -
Thanks Ferf,
We are. I'll check it out.
Cheers,

Haha. Well we are not married yet and don't even live together so it's early days re: me telling him what to do and how to do it0 -
Whoever told you that doesn't know their stuff and is spouting out of date info.
All the Bellagio room were upgraded last year and are looking really nice. I agree that a non-fountain view room would probably be a waste of money.
The travel agent did say that the Bellagio is nice, but she went on an "educational" to all the Vegas hotels at the end of last year and she said the rooms didn't have the same wow factor as some of the others like the Wynn and the Cosmo, even since the refurbishment. And because it's a 40th birthday gift she didn't want me to get there and be a little disappointed. I have to say though that I do still love the look of the Bellagio, so I'll hop across while we're there, with a view to maybe booking it on a future trip.
Full marks to reservation services at The Cosmopolitan! I emailed to ask if all the One Bedroom Fountain View Terraces are on high floors, as I've read that the lower floors can be bad for the Marquee nightclub noise. I asked if I would be able to request as high a floor as possible, but expected to either be told that they could only take this request nearer the time or actually at the time of check-in. I got a lovely email back saying the note had been added to my booking (I gave no booking information at all!), and also to wish my boyfriend a very early happy birthday. Just be aware that is all it is, a note put on their system. to be fair most Vegas hotels are great at recognizing those notes and acting upon them but they don't always....of course greasing their palms often helps0
