grr...the $25 certificates are in stock if you buy them outright but not if you exchange/use credit for them...the $10 ones yes, $25 no...
Ferf sorry but I managed to get 2 this way this morning, but it was about 9am! Have tried the last few months and had no luck, I contacted Restaurant.com after the last time I was unlucky and they said the allocation was different for the gift certificates than the standard ones and that they only had a very small number available for the certificates. I was wondering if I was doing something wrong!
I had these from returning ones I'd bought in 2007 that I thought were lost, so thanks to whoever mentioned it on here that you could return them for the credit. Still have 2 x $10 ones to redeem as well, but not sure what to use them on that we'll actually use.
With myvegas and the social rewards credits I'm hoping for a cheap next Vegas holiday! If at first you don't succeed - destroy all evidence that you tried.0 -
It just worked for DH and I, Gracie - maybe give it another try?
Thanks so much for posting NVH! Did they advertise the offer? It doesn't seem to appear anywhere on their website.
Re the Reward Seat sale, sorry if I sound dim but what's the 'sale' element of it - itsn't it always 35,000 miles for Vegas flights? Thanks
Its normally 47,500 miles for an Economy return to Vegas, also the additional surcharges you need pay have been reducedYou may have noticed that we've lowered the amount of Fuel Surcharge on these long haul Economy flights. This change won't just apply to this offer period, so keep up to date via our Reward Flights pages as more information follows0 -
edit: this is only supposed to be valid till 31/5/2013 so act on this ASAP if it's of use to you!!!
and to complement that, here's a link to upgrade your Flying Club status from Red... to silver (for free of course)
http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/frequentflyer/microsite/default/regonline/step1.jsp?campaign_code=IOD12
Just put in your membership number, then enter two parts of validation (I did my date of birth, and first two letters of postal code)
Worked immediately and valid for 1 year
Details on silver benefits here: http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/frequentflyer/membershipbenefits/silverbenefits/index.jsp
Main benefits I can see (for me) would be:
Thanks. Just done this for me and hubby. We will be flying to Washington and then on to New York later in the year, not booked yet. Then hoping to fly to LA, drive around, chill in LV and then back from either LV or LA.0 -
thanks for red > silver heads up, worked straight away
now looking at reward seat sales for a variety of destinations and the best value! unfortunately LV isn't available for sept/oct0 -
Thanks nvh and Duchy. I needed someone to explain that to me.0

no need to be sorry, good for you! I've gotten them before this way and others here have too but it always seemed there were limited numbers available to purchase that way - so thank you for getting clarification from r.com that we are all not going mad.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Did get the red to silver link to work in the end and also got strip burger voucher, so all in all a good day thanks for posting.0

Ace, glad you got it all sorted Gracie :-)
Re the reward seat sale (thanks all for the info so far), is it really such a bad idea to use points to book a whole flight? I've heard that it's much better value to use miles for an upgrade but I've just got to 35,000 miles (DH has got 42,000) and the thought of getting flights for £250-£300 is incredibly tempting!"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"

Maybe it is but you have to be willing to pay the necessary fare to be eligible for the upgrade so depends on what the goal is - to fly as cheaply as possible or to get a good deal on an upgrade...some would prefer to have a cheap economy flight instead...it's probably a matter of personal preference and depends on how often you fly/how many miles you might rack up, etc.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
