we recently exchanged some r.com vouchers originally bought in 2008 for places we thought we might like to try and never did....some of these I am sure that I gave away to others when they still expired within a year of purchase but they were there in my account so hey.

Pampas is also on Tix4Dinner I think - or it used to be....someone here had an issue using the vouchers they hand out awhile back, can't remember the detail but seems like it was something along the lines of buy one top price option get one lowest price option free when you got to the restaurant...something like that...we have a couple of r.com vouchers from years gone by and one day will try it!

Weather is lovely, very happy with upgrade to P (red, even) room at Paris for asking nicely (tipped after)...had our best first night gambling ever - came to bed with more than double our daily budget each...hopefully the luck will continue.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

That looks good, I assume the drinks are still free (tip) ? or is it a way for the casinos to do away with free drinks

yeah, for some reason, they've changed the wording of the emails... historically, it have been labelled as a code for an 80% discount but now they give it in a numerical example ($25 for $4)... frustrating as i'm awful at figuring out what that is as a % :D

    Dead easy. $25 for $4 is a $21 discount. $21 as a percentage of $25 to get the discount. $21 divided by $25 and x100 to make it a percentage. It's a 84% discount. HTH. ;)

I assumed free - and the limitations on the machines are probably the higher denomination machines. Surely if they were selling the drinks they would have to put prices on there.

I remember a casino downtown (Mermaids?) that used to have a drinks button on the slot machines :D Not as sophisticated as Palazzo, it was just a light that alerted the cocktail waitress.

It's even simpler than that, the discount is calculated on the 'normal' selling price - $25 certificates are usually $10 without any discount so when they are offered for 4 bucks it's a 60% discount.
    Use Lesley's calculation (6 / 10)*100 = 60

or in the above case subtract 4 from 10 = 6 and then times 10.

Got back from Vegas yesterday after stay for 1week. We stayed at Flamingo & before we arrived I emailed them to ask about the building work that is going on behind The Quad. They said they would per book us a room in the quietist part of the hotel. They did not dissapointment! We were given a lovely room on the top floor (28) with fantastic views if the strip.

The first day we were there Friday 8th it was cold & raining. We were there for a friends wedding on the Saturday & after that the weather just got better & hotter everyday.

This was our 3rd visit to Vegas in the last 4 years & I must admit the place felt very different this time. Bills is a big part of our holiday & it felt really sad to look through the windows at it all derelict 😢

Also, I'm not sure if it is because we usually go in May but everything seemed so much more expensive this time. From the outlet stores to the shops & bars.

Still had a fab time though!
