I was about to post the same about a handbag and or laptop case being allowed on top of your 6kg
http://virginatlantic.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/533Laptops as hand baggage
Can I bring a carry-on suitcase and a laptop bag as hand baggage?
Yes, but only if you’re travelling in Upper Class.
If you’re travelling in Economy or Premium Economy, you can only take one piece of hand baggage on board. So, if you want to have your laptop bag with you, you'll need to place it in your original hand baggage or check the other bag in.
Please be aware that if you do this and you’re already checking in another piece of baggage, you’ll need to pay an additional baggage fee.
Take a look at our hand baggage and excess baggage pages for more details.
To save time and money you can now purchase extra baggage online.0 -

I thought Virgin used to allow you to take a laptop as well as hand luggage - I'm sure they did when we went in 2010"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"

I have two nights in Las Vegas after an organised tour. I'll be travelling alone and am a young female. Looking to meet some nice people and have fun.
I'm staying at Tropicana, has anyone stayed here before?
Also I'll be there Friday and Saturday night then leaving lunch time Sunday. What are the 'must do' things?
I'd love to see one of the cirque du soleil shows, any recommendations on the best one and is it best to buy tickets before I go?0 -

Pebblesmax we have flown a few times with VA and have only had our hand luggage weighed once and that was when we connected in Gatwick for our flight.Thank God they have never weighed hand luggage on the way home, all I can say is Heavy!!!In fact Im so nervous getting all my luggage checked in on the way home that I have a habit of hiding my hand luggage behind my legs as we check in!!!Oh how I loved the days of 2 suitcases each free of charge! On the subject of VA we have 3 days to go before I can book seats, are the planes with the economy bubble upstairs just from Gatwick or Is that seat configuration from Manchester too?If so does anyone have good seat numbers for me to book? There are three adults going ( one is 6'5 and knows hes in for a cramped ride!).0
