No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in January 2013

  • I'm also trying to start using my luxury products more but it's so hard. The urge to 'save' the best products is so tough when you know you can't afford to buy them again anytime soon should they run out.

    A UU from me:
L'Occitane Immortelle precious night cream (Sample bottle) - WNB, smelt strong and a bit odd to me. A bit too thick for my liking too.

    And an unfortunate IN:
    Simple Hydrating Moisturiser

I was away at the weekend and forgot to pack a moisturiser. The cold air was making my skin hurt so I gave in and bought this. My first paid purchase of the year :(

My little one is 2 this Friday so I'm planning her birthday party. Happy days :D

Tokkiandoliver and Hermia, I love that sentiment. Why do we keep some things just for best, hardly ever seeing the light of day? (not just toiletries too)

I'm going to follow that idea this year :)

Also, just signed up to trial a new deo, I get 2 full-sized samples for free :D
  • UU Weleda Night cream - Think this was from LIB WBA as I like this and it didnt bring me out in spots.

I can highly recommend the Steam Cream for dermatitis, I have been using it on my hands and the patch on my finger has nearly gone.

Hi everyone and welcome newbies. In order to use up some of the ordinary but perfectly good stuff, when it comes to toiletries (rather than skincare) I have been tending to have a basic one and a more luxury item on the go and alternate them, it means I will not just TA the ordinary stuff, but get to use some of the special goodies too. It means the UU's of full sizes are slow, but I don't just waste things (and therefore money). For instance, I have never really been a sunbather, so the skin on most of my body is soft and not over dry, but my arms, feet and legs which have been more exposed are thirstier, so the rich luxury creams are used here and the body gets the basic treatment. Shampoo hoard is just down to a couple (large sizes) of HG's, I have used all the others for the first shampoo and the HG's for the second one. Will not suit everyone but might help some.

Yesterday because of this thread I bought a half-price Superslug Brightening Hot Cloth Cleanser. It was only £2.99 and I really want to try it out and see if it's a cheaper alternative to LE C&P. Let's ignore the fact that I have 5 more LE C&Ps in my stash!!!

UU: No7 Cuticle Nail Care Cream, 10ml - WBA but I have an oil pen to finish off first :)

    Hello ladies,
    I'm back online!
I've been following the thread on my phone, but failed miserably in avoiding the B00ts sale.
Next month there will be no INs!!!!

Welcome to all the newbies! Its a really lovely thread!

it is the pink candle thing again!!
  • Hello and welcome to the newbies!

I finally have another UU, I was starting to think I wouldn't get anymore for the rest of the month!

Avon Planet Spa African shea butter foot and elbow cream (what a short snappy name that is!) - WNBA, I really wasn't keen on the smell but it was a nice thick cream. Still have plenty of foot creams in the stash and several body butters to repurpose so best get moisturising :D

    Stay warm ladies!

    2 outs while showering:

Percy and Reed Conditioner. WNBA ( even if you paid me)- It's OK on my hair but smells AWFUL. BLEUGH.

TBS Satsuma beautifying oil. WNBA- it did an OK job but it's expensive for what it is. You couldn't use it on your face and I'm sure it would make your hair like an oil slick.

I forgot I had another UU- bad gal mascara in plum. This had been open and being used for quite a long time and was about gone

WIBA? I already have another one open in the stash

I have one of these on the go at the moment as well. Love this mascara. It's my second one and I'd definitely repurchase once this one has gone.
    evening all

uu elemis pro-radiance cleanser, part of a recent TSV, this does a great job of taking makeup off but unfortunately it really doesn't seem to agree with my skin, definitely no radiance seen but an outbreak of spots which would rival many a teenager's skin!, wnba

    happy pampering, xo

I get milia if I use too much of this cleanser. I find half a pump is enough and actually preferred it when I was using the small tube I had of this. Have you used the body oil? I've managed to finish one bottle of this and really enjoyed using it.

No more UUs just yet but have three things spluttering that I can think of : my nail lacquer remover, LE nourishing body cream and a tube of Holland & Barratt Aloe Vera Gel.

Have repainted my nails tonight and am wearing OPI Tickle my Francey.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
