I have a question for you all... I have some Neal's Yard Frankincense face cream which has been open a while, it doesn't really smell of anything, just of cream. Is it worth using it up or should I just throw it away?
    TIA

I've just used mine up as a foot cream!

nice idea, I have loads of body butters/creams etc. that I could use up like that!
  • A small UU Dove hair therapy colour radiance mini left over from a Bzz Campaign. WBA I think

An Non Bought In. I've mentioned before about Amazon Vine, which is a scheme Amazon runs where they select trusted reviewers to review stuff for free, these reviewers are Vine Voices and I'm lucky enough to be one.

Despite keenly reviewing various toiletries, I don't often get offered toiletries related items, so it was a nice surprise to have a Gillette Venus and Olay ladies razor on my Vine list last Thursday.

Under the terms of Vine, I can't review it here, but my review has already been submitted to Amazon. :D The razor has made me a happy bunny, 'nuff said.

I mentioned earlier in the thread my moving to showers every other day, as daily showers were counter productive. Well, that's resulted in a really unexpected purchase. Not quite toiletries related but it will save me money in the long run.

One of the problems with a shower every other day was that a flannel wash wasn't quite the total clean feel I wanted for my important little places, so I bought something I'd envisaged buying in my 80s perhaps, if ever... :o
A portable bidet, £6.99 on Amazon.
    It's brilliant. Honestly.

Not the most glam item I've ever had in the bathroom, :D but this one has an integral soap dish, an easy pouring lip for emptying and is lovely to use. I can't bathe, only shower, due to arthritis and it's been great to dip my nether regions again!

:rotfl:It will also get me (eventually) using up the soaps that have been sat in the bathroom storage unit drawer since I started this challenge. I use ordinary soap to make laundry gloop but this is Dove and a bit too nice for that. We have a Dettol handwash dispenser in the bathroom that I won on FB last year that is taking ages to UU.

I don't count toilet/baby wipes as part of the challenge but I won't have to buy those any more, so by my reckoning the bidet should pay for itself in a few months (it was £6.99 on sale, usual price £15.99).

  • I forgot I had another UU- bad gal mascara in plum. This had been open and being used for quite a long time and was about gone

WIBA? I already have another one open in the stash
  • Small UU - Lancome mini mascara.
  • evening all

uu elemis pro-radiance cleanser, part of a recent TSV, this does a great job of taking makeup off but unfortunately it really doesn't seem to agree with my skin, definitely no radiance seen but an outbreak of spots which would rival many a teenager's skin!, wnba

    happy pampering, xo

    I too have a UU:

    2. Nioxin shampoo - This lasted quite a long time. I bought it from when I used to have my hair cut at the hairdressers rather than by my friend (who is a hairdresser!). I bought it using points I had on my account so it was technically a freebie although the haircuts were expensive so it wasn't really!

WIBA? No. It claims to make your hair thicker but didn't really notice any difference. Think it costs about £15 a bottle and there are other shampoos I prefer that are a lot cheaper!

    (Foot cream!)
That's what many of us do, I know. Including me. A shea -scented body butter (that contains no shea butter) is the latest one - a friend bought it and passed it on, unloved, knowing I would use it as foot cream.
My feet have really benefited from this approach, I had many problems with hard skin, ingrowing toenails etc, and with daily attention to my tootsies over the last two years they have all disappeared.

My circulation is compromised due to disability and there's an increased danger of infections (such as cellulitis) from foot injuries. Not having to use sharp corn and callus knife blades to remove hard skin and calluses has been a huge positive. Even if you are super careful, and use a safety knife, it's incredibly easy to cut yourself.

It also means not having to buy special blades, an average of 3x a year, and they are not cheap.

[QUOTE=Parisian;58788543 What do you guys use for your cuticles?

    [/QUOTE]

I didn't know you were supposed to use anything for your cuticles until I joined this thread. You've given me something else to worry about! :D
