No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in January 2013

  • Thank you for the sympathy, I'm really touched, especially when others have been having a far tougher time. No one was hurt and there was nothing that could be done, just very aggravating.

I have been thinking about buying all day, and have gone for the classic distraction method; cooked food, cleaned up the kitchen, had a bath and gave myself a facial.

As a result I have two UUs:

Sting in the tail gin and tonic bathing gel 200ml
Ren vetiver hand and body cream 15ml

The bathing gel was a present last Xmas. It's a very subtle smell but does smell exactly like a gin and tonic (which I think is lovely). Luckily it doesn't leave you smelling of booze, but a touch of lemon and juniper. WIBA? Maybe, it's a very subtle but novelty product.

Ren vetiver cream was a free product on the front of a magazine recently. I quite liked this, but prefer Ren's Neroli Grapefruit which I plan on buying once the stash is eradicated.

I have also gone through all my products to see what else is sputtering/near sputtering. I estimate I will use up another 8 products over the next two weeks.

Hope everyone else is having a nicely warm, snuggled evening.

So glad you've had a productive evening. Well done for resisting! Keep it up :) xxx

I HATED this, almost as much as I hate lavender! If it's from the same freebie as mine there were 2 other products in the set but haven't tried them yet.

Really? What did you dislike about it so much? The smell's a big meh to me, but not too strong. Texture was different from what was expecting having used the neroli grapefruit, not as moisturising.

The eye gel in this set kicked off my eczema but that may be a coincidence, as it appears to be affected by the cold weather.
  • Finally finished two things I thought would never end.

    Estee Lauder Mani/Pedi lotion. 15m.
not a bad smell, not even sure they make it anymore, wouldn't go looking for it.

Freeman, Natural Organic Facial Scrub (or some such name) 150ml. Ok, very gentle but I don't remember seeing it on the shelves lately, must use up the stash before products disappear. One full size and four sample face scrubs to go.

The weather is totally weird. From 7C to an expected low of -20 tonight. The roads will be horrid.

the smell was weird and didn't feel like it did much for my skin at all. I've had much better and cheaper hand/body lotions. I know it was free but I think Ren is a pretty expensive brand.

You've put me off the eye gel now also! My skin is dreadul at the moment already! It sounds silly but I'm never quite sure what I should be doing with eye cream. Do you apply it all over the lids, underneath the eyes, on the corners or all three? I don't think I've ever bought one on its own, they've all come as part of sets.

  • Another UU today - mini bottle of Ghost perfume. I have a couple more mini bottles of perfumes to use up. Tend to use them at work and my full size ones at home

There are a few that are recomended for use all over eye area and where those smiley lines appear, but more often than not they suggest around the orbital bone only, if it does not state on packaging I would try and look it up on line, if they are very rich and you use the all over sometimes those horrid Millia occur:eek:
