Roguey - Comiseration for all your upset. Families!!!

Val, Roguey and all of you who have been supporting me through this hellish time - visited my brother on Wednesday and found him bright and breezy, when he went into hospital he weighed just over 15.1/2 stone (6ft and solid muscle), earlier this week he weighed in at 11st 4lbs, but he is being well fed (very good food there), he had needed hoist to get out of bed, his legs would not support him, but he had managed, with help, to slide off edge of bed onto his feet, manage a tiny shuffle and flop heavily into chair, he was so chuffed, last night he texted me to say he had been a little walk along corridor with aid of a frame, today he is expecting to try to walk with just a physio each side of him. I think he will come on in leaps and bounds now.

The plan is to get him strong enough for discharge, send him home to get stronger and then in approx 3 months have him back and operate on the remaining anuerysm, it will be a very big procedure, but if succesful, be better than walking around with a ticking time bomb. He does not expect to be able to earn a living for most of 2013.

Woop woop!! Super pleased for you (and him, obviously!)

Hi, I love candles as well especially Yankee Candles. Have just lit my last Christmas large jar which should take me into next month. Still have some wax tarts and votives left over from Christmas as well.

I like days like that. I've had a pretty bad week at work with a co-worker shunning me because she is losing her job. Not a great atmosphere especially when there are only 6 of us working there. Never mind, it's Friday. 2 completions today, maybe 3 so not as busy as usual for a Friday.

I'm also a bit of a YC fiend, I have so many around the place. I also have hundreds of tealights to use...must buy some nice tealight holders!

Rushed off feet again today but now can utterly relax for the whole weekend. Shame about your colleague but I don't really see why it's being taken out on you?

Well it is Friday night, I didn't leave the office until gone 7 again and to top it all off, have completely done my neck in. I stink of tiger balm and am popping ibuprofen every few hours. Roll on a lie in and my back letting go of the tension. Off to lie on the floor looking like an idiot.
  • uu 107 baby wipes with a young daughter we have a few packs of these hanging about so WBA.

Painted my nails in opi unfor-greta-bly blue. I love nail polish but sadly am not allowed to wear it at work so the application marks the start of the weekend!

Evening ladies and hello to all our lovely newbies

This thread is moving so fast and I am struggling to catch up.

Maddiemay - wonderful update on your brother, wishing he gets stronger every day.

I have few UU's (at last).

No 7 Day Cream - WBA and have one more in the stash.

Too Faced Eye Shadow Insurance - This is a HG item for me. Love it and will need to rebuy. Put off splashing out as it has went up by £2 since I last bought it.

The most rare of UU's - Clinique lipstick Rose Aglow. Still have another 2 in the stash.

TA - Tigi Bedhead Manipulator Conditioner. There asn't too much left but it had went really stringy and wouldn't come out the bottle. WNBA.

    You're welcome :)

I don't usually use top coat, but was thinking of buying one in the hopes that it would help my nail polish last longer, so not really worried about shine... I suppose it's worth a try with the base coat, will give it a go later!

There a lots of good top coats out there. I've tried Nails Inc, Seche Vite and Essies' To Dry For. The Essie one is my favourite. They all perform well and give a lovely gloss but the Essie one is the only one that has not gone gloopy before I finished the bottle. I bought mine in the US on a 3 for 2 deal and got 2 bottles. I've finished one and have a good half a bottle left of the one I'm using. These were bought in October 2011 and as you've probably gathered on here I paint my nails every other day so it gives you an idea of how economical this top coat is.

Hope you get some relief for your neck soon. Have a long soak in the bath and get your OH to give you a massage!

The colleague I mentioned has been with the firm longer than me so thinks it should be last in first out but I'm not the one who's fee earner has left. She got angry last week and said she wanted to be scored against me. She was off on Monday and I have a feeling she sought legal advice, found she couldn't do anything and has been rude and sullen since. At first I felt sorry for her but now I just wish she would go.

I don't think I could take a job where I wasn't allowed to wear nail polish :rotfl: Vacuous, moi?? I have that colour too. It's lovely.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Morning all. We had about a foot of snow overnight in Yorkshire last night, our road was plowed during the night which is a first but we will have to dig the car out before we can get on it.

Had a little flurry of uu

BS Grapefruit Body Scrub - wba on a good offer

BS Grapefruit Body Butter- wba - lovely and soft

L'oreal Gentle eye make up remover - have replaced this with another from the stash and still have two more after that. When they are done I WNBA as it just can't cope with heavier makeup or eyeshadow primer.

Well the official line is that it restores the skin's PH after cleansing I believe. I stopped using it for about 6 months, but honestly feel it is better for my skin to use it. I have an ageing/dryness problem, my HG is LE Instant Boost Skin Tonic, and I feel it adds an extra boost of moisture which I then seal in with serum and moisturiser. It might be worth doing a month on/month off trial, I don't know your skin type, but my feeling is that all skin needs moisture.

Any other recommendations out there for an alternative to LE? There seem to be so many types of Toner around!

    Two UU's
Liz Earle Superbalm WNBA, it may be because it has been around a while, but cannot use it near my face, brings me out in red blotches (the original one did this). Used it up on cuticles.

Cutex Nourishing Hand and Nail Cream 30ml. WBA (when hand cream mountain used). Does the job nicely and not sticky.

I bought some No 7 stuff (3 ins btw) yesterday and was talking to the consultant and she said that if you have a really good cleanser then you don't need toner. She said that toner just did the last bit of cleansing. However if you read the toner article on beauty mouth, that's very much a myth and you do need toner.

I got the No 7 beautiful eye serum, No 7 protect & perfect serum and No 7 protect & perfect day cream. I still need a waterproof mascara, toner (?) and a face mask.

Maddiemay, I hope your brother is still getting better
