  • UU Molton Brown perfume sample - Not sure what it was but it was very manly! More aftershave I thought than perfume.

UU Swarkovski Aura perfume sample - didnt really like this much

UU Percy & Reed dry conditioner mini - WNBA but got another in the stash. I wash my hair everyday so found the concept of putting conditioner on after blow drying a bit of a faff. I did try spraying on to the brush and brushing it through damp hair and it wasnt to bad.

Going to paint my nails later and have a question for all you lovely people...
Can base coat be used as top coat?

I am thinking of buying a top coat, but have two bottles of base coat and wondered whether I should just use that instead? What do you reckon?

ValM - I will be trying the No Foundation Foundation very soon so will let you know.

Val, Roguey and all of you who have been supporting me through this hellish time - visited my brother on Wednesday and found him bright and breezy, when he went into hospital he weighed just over 15.1/2 stone (6ft and solid muscle), earlier this week he weighed in at 11st 4lbs, but he is being well fed (very good food there), he had needed hoist to get out of bed, his legs would not support him, but he had managed, with help, to slide off edge of bed onto his feet, manage a tiny shuffle and flop heavily into chair, he was so chuffed, last night he texted me to say he had been a little walk along corridor with aid of a frame, today he is expecting to try to walk with just a physio each side of him. I think he will come on in leaps and bounds now.

The plan is to get him strong enough for discharge, send him home to get stronger and then in approx 3 months have him back and operate on the remaining anuerysm, it will be a very big procedure, but if succesful, be better than walking around with a ticking time bomb. He does not expect to be able to earn a living for most of 2013.

    That's great news maddiemay. x

Don't know what the official line would be but I'd say why not? I use OPI Nail Envy for a base coat. I suppose you would have to see if you get the kind of glossy shine you like from a top coat from using it?
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I would give it a go, several companies sell combined base/top coats, although some specialised base coats are available ridge filler, grippy ones to make the polish adhere better - allegedly. Let us know how you get on and what colour you choose?:D

    You're welcome :)

I don't usually use top coat, but was thinking of buying one in the hopes that it would help my nail polish last longer, so not really worried about shine... I suppose it's worth a try with the base coat, will give it a go later!

  • I'm a bit lost as the thread is moving so fast! Hugs to all :)

IN: Vaseline Essential Moisture Hand Cream, 75ml - I am getting through hand cream at a rate of knots in this cold weather and expect some UUs soon and this is so cheap (99p) I had to buy it from Family Bargains!

UU Pantene aqua light shampoo. WBA. It's is one of my HG shampoos (I can never use the same shampoo two days in a row so will have a few of these!)

I keep getting bored of what I'm using and wanting to open new things but I'm persevering with what I have!

Next week I will work on adding to my stash list the contents of my boots/tbs sales purchases
