No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in January 2013

Thanks Ruby-eskimo for starting us off. I am in for this month.
Welcome newbies.
I feel that I had my LBM in December regarding toiletries and spending in general, I haven't purchased a single thing in the sales. I really, really hope I can keep it up. I am still going to have £10 to spend each month on beauty related items, I can carry it forward but not spend in advance. This should just help if I NEED a new nail polish or lip gloss etc.
Good luck everyone.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Happy New Year everyone :j. I haven't been on in a while but hope you all had a lovely Christmas.
I am in again for January and already have one uu of a 50ml ABC molten brown shower gel. WBA if I ever actually need to buy shower gel again.
I did very well at Christmas and only received 3 perfume sets which is fantastic. I do not stash perfume so happy to get these and I haven't added any creams, potions or lotions to the stash. I did get loads of other lovely presents instead.VSP member #250 -
First UU of the new year - Mitchum unperfumed deodorant. WBA - don't really need this time of year, but in the summer I seem to sweat really badly (suspect to do with being overweight) and this definitely does the trick.
Won't be buying again now as have another one in the stash.0 -
well I managed not to spend any money on anything yesterday despite all the sales emails:)did talk to DS1 in california for an hour on my new ipad mini, his pressie to us both and even took a photo of DC(dear cat) to put on facebook....not bad for an old luddite:rotfl:
OH actually talking about holidays and is taking a day off work to pick me up from the airport when I go away with my friend in feb!!!maybe things are looking up.We won't be going to see DS1 in May tho as he is having an op on his jaw which will be wired up for a few weeks so think we will postpone(again) till sep.I am looking at turkey for a week in May (have mentioned it to OH)as think it would do us good to go somewhere new for a change and i don't fancy going to our usual place after last years holiday problems!trouble is he is such a princess on holiday and only wants 5 star hotels!!!which seem limited where I want to go.oh well we will see.
11 a.m and still messing on laptop better get on!happy new year all:)0 -
My first two UUs of 2013!
1) Scholl cracked heel cream - WNBA! I have had this a month and used it every day, but a week ago it began to separate. It is now just water and gunk so I will have to throw the last bit away. It has been kept on my bedside table in a room with the heating on low so I have no idea why this has happened.
2) Aveeno cream. I have been using this on my hands. WBA. Great stuff.0 -

On a different note since hitting 40 (im now 41) I have been plagued with spots - horrid sore acne like spots. I understand im probably peri menopausal but do any of you lovely ladies have any recommendations as its destroying my confidence.
Aw sorry to hear this - sounds awful.
Can I recommend that you look at Caroline Hiron's blog called Beauty Mouth? Its a blog about skincare.
I discovered it a few days ago and I am converted to her mantra's. She gives lots of good, sensible advice and is making me reconsider my skin care routine. Could be that you need to change your products or take some supplements?
Have a look and see what you think.0 -
I second Caroline Hiron's advice - I've tried a few things she's recommended and loved all of them.
Probably the thing that's made the most difference is double-cleansing. I wear makeup every day so really need to wash twice to get it all off properly.0 -
Hi folks,
Can I rejoin please? I stopped posting towards the end of last year but would like to get my stash under control this year! Really need to save money and spend less on toiletries!Sealed Pot Challenge Number 1225

I love her advice too! I am totally onboard with the no unneccessary toiletries in 2013 (for body - have enough soap & glory / body shop / bliss to last all year) but I have scrimped on face care and I've realised its time to spend a bit more on face products that actually work, so hopefully I will buy less of them in the quest for nice skin.
So I expect I will have one new product this month in the form of an Emma Hardie cleanser but beyond that I don't intend to buy anymore (hopefully!)
What do you double cleanse with Skyllo?0 -

Currently I'm using this for the first cleanse:

Then Emma Hardie balm for the second one. I LOVE this and it's nearly finished. *sob* I have a Liz Earle cleanser (the limited edition rose + lavender one) that I'll finish up first and then repurchase EH one when I can justify it!0
