I've been on at Mr LW to give the lawnmower its annual clean and overhaul, and between us we got it done today.

Had it in bits; got all the encrusted grass off, washed all the washable bits, and Mr LW sharpened the blades, so it's all ready for use in the spring.

We've had jacket spuds and baked beans for dins; Mr LW is currently watching a film we taped several days ago and haven't got around to watching yet, so when that's over we'll crack on with the weekend tasks.

Bed has been stripped and the mattress turned. We do this every 8 weeks - turn the mattress, that is; I change the bedlinen weekly, just in case you thought we were mucky wotnots!:D We just need to remember to put some clean bedlinen on before bedtime.:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Breezes into thread!

Hello folks I 'm back from a stint decluttering at my mum's! The irony was not lost on me!

DH has been flying whilst I have been away - the kitchen looks ace! He's been through all the cupboards and admitted that there was very little to throw out, but he has organised it a bit more efficiently!

Sadly he's left me the washing:-

Off to read back through the thread....

Where has today gone? Slept in till 9, kids home at 10.30, out at 11.15, home at 12.30, lunch and bed, until about 45min ago :o

No time to make a mess though ;)

Well, football club was a mixed bag. DS refused to join in. Instead DD jumped up and said "I do it, I do it" so in the midst of 8 four yr old boys in football kits, my 2yo DD in her fairy dress ran in and out of the cones, and scored two goals :rotfl: Have asked DS if he wants to go back, but he seems unsure. I know he wanted to play, but it was a room full of boys with their dads. Maybe he needs to watch a few times? He does know one of the boys too.

No doubt when we start dancing next week, DD will be sat on my knee and DS will be twirling about like Billy Elliot :D

So my plan tonight, sort out the washing that is still in the machine, sort out tea, get some ear plugs (kids whining) and get them to pick up their jigsaw bits.

    Not too taxing.

Bossymoo my eldest always needed to watch things for a good while before joining in even at school fetes and fairs etc.

Been cleaning and tidying for most of the day and house looks much better again. Just need to quickly do the shower room (downstairs loo so will be used by visitors) and then get changed, I've started cooking dinner so just have the pots and veg to do.

DH (Hex we had a row then decided to make up, I've been heard ;))
has a bad back so is in the massage chair.

Ebay reso centre have given me my money back which I'm happy about, not a lot but it was the principle, I'll be leaving a neg for sure (not something I think I've ever done before).

  • Hello!

Dogs taken on longish walk with hubby - always nice.
Just sitting with cuppa and wil do food!

    Enjoy your evening x x x
If you wait for perfect conditions, nothing would ever get done! :T

Survived my riding lesson but am NOT as fit as I used to be - but then again I have had 2 children in between times and am proud to say I still fit in the same jodhpurs I used to wear!! We went straight out for a walk afterwards and that was 1.5 hrs so should sleep well tonight.

Kids at Church Party so me and DH got the house to ourselves - I've made my phone call to the insurance companies I couldn't do because always busy, taken down the Christmas decorations and am about to do a bit more tidying up before going back to get the little 'cherubs' at 6.

Bossymoo your little girl certainly showed the boys how to play football by the sounds of it - good for her!!

Lamewolf that's very organised of you getting the lawn mower sorted out already - we're not that efficient here.

Skintbreeder mind you take it easy now and keep resting.

Trulymadly I love the idea of the magnetic letters spelling out what needs to be done - great stuff!

Valli glad you're OK, shakes you up when you're involved in an accident no matter how big/small. Have a nice quiet evening if you can.

Have a nice evening everyone :)

  • Just had a little energy spurt - washing load No1 on. Ice cream in the ice-cream maker (not a proper maker - easy yo version) and an easy yo yoghurt on too. OH doing DW and then I will get some ironing done later.

Up early to go get a fridge/freezer with DD. Her ex FIL took us. We went to a family firm in a village near us. I always get my white goods there. Delivery is very quick and they take the old item away. So within a hour DD had her fridge freezer.

Flying wise Ive hoovered right through. Towels are in the wash. Kitchen and bathroom been S&Sed.
Went to Mr A and got shopping I forgot on Thursday.
Changed the bed and put dry washing away.

Hugs spoons and sticks where needed.

We have finally changed the loo seat in the downstairs loo. It has been bugging me for weeks and has spurred DH to talk about giving the smallest room a coat of paint.

I have been steadily decluttering our bedroom as that's what I want to get painted. My employer is away on hols from 29 Jan until 11 Feb so I could have over a week to revamp our room. Biggest expense will be new carpet. DH gets his bonus at the end of Jan so I'm going to be very nice to him.

Hi there. It looks like lots of fly-people have been busy today, like me, possibly, spurred on by brighter weather - or at least no rain!

We've really been busy today: after breakfasts for us, the cats and birds outside, we hoovered through, dusted throughout, cleaned bathroom and kitchen, mopped kitchen and conservatory floors, changed the cat blankets/beds, changed our bed, and did 4 x WM, 2 x TD, put some lighter items (cat blankets etc out to dry a bit), 1 x DW, then had a shower, put the towels on to wash, then went out shopping.

Got some bits at Mat@@@n, P@ts at H@@e, then a major shop at Mr M, after having a nice Italian lunch at a local restaurant near the shops. Am still full now, but happily settled with a BIG mug of tea, and both cats happy as I got them some treats!

Good vibes to everybody, and especially to all those who are not so well, or have had unexpected bumps today! You all take care - and you Skintbreeder, rest those pins now!

Let's hope for more drier weather tomorrow and good luck and health for everyone. Bye for now, R x
