Don't feel like I'm getting anywhere fast with DS's room. There's just no room to work in there.

Afternoon everyone. So far today, I've taken parrots to no avail, taken the dogs for their first walk, done weekly shop with DH, emptied airer of dried clothes, hoovered downstairs, and put the house back as it should be now DS visit is over.

Rest of todays to do list:

Sew dog toy again (supposed to withstand efforts of a great dane, but obviously can't cope with a westie)
    Make soup
    Walk dogs again
    MeMeMe time

    Tomorrows list:

    Take Xmas decs down
    Walk dogs
    Hoover/sweep mop through house
    Gardening

DD did say she might come home for a while today and if she does I'll help her sort out her room as there's more storage units to fill now, but I don't think she'll turn up.

    Catch you all later.

  • Valli, Skint and Tarot - I think you should all take the afternoon off - what a time you've all had.

My HH was nicely interrupted by the log man arriving with a ton of split wood which has all been stacked in the garage, so will be toasty tonight.

I managed to do all my listed jobs, plus hoovered the hall, stairs and landing and fed the WM again. Blowy, bright day here although clouds are plentiful, so wondering whether to chance putting it out on the line for the first time in months - just don't fancy standing on soggy ground whilst I do it - the garden is saturated.

There's quite a few jobs here everyone can get involved in so I've used the magnetic strabble letters and stuck the list on the fridge door so everyone can choose what they want to do. I can hear they've taken the hint as the pots are smashing and clashing as I type :rotfl:

Off to find the box to put the tree down next as I'm working this evening and I don't think they'll get around to it. (See how I've avoided the bathroom again!) :rotfl:

Another HH for me at 1pm - get onboard.

  • Please take it easy fainting/trembling/pregnant people.

I've done lots of studying this morning. I have a LOT more to do, so I am alternating periods of study with periods of housework, and occasional me time to let the old brain recharge for the next period of study.

    Flywise, so far today I've:
    • Topped up the DW with salt, cleaned the filter, chucked in some vinegar and set it off empty on a hot wash
    • Flung a saucepan, small frying pan and plastic plate which were showing signs of the potential to harbour germs
    • Opened parcel with my family organiser and to-do notes in
    • Hung up the scarves, hats & gloves I washed earlier
    • Topped up the water in the vases
    • Opened the windows

I'm going to have a coffee and lunch now, then, between study times I will:
    • Wash the throws
    • Turn my mattress and re-make my bed
    • Clear and polish the coffee table
    • Finish washing the fruit & veg
    • Wipe the fridge
    • Clear table in the hall
    • Chuck knackered handbag and 'thin out' current handbag
    • Hoover & hop, lol, maybe even mop

That should keep me going. Love, hugs, sticks, spoons, slaps & sloppy kisses as needed/wanted xx

Think I'll get the kids on "sock box" duty whilst I think about bathroom/baubles, bathroom/baubles, bathroom/baubles, bathroom/baubles. Baubles wins!:j

The dog toy was beyond repair this time, now have a very grumpy westie, but soup is made and about to be scoffed (well some of it) and DD has arrived home for a couple of hours, so charity and rubbish bags waiting to be filled.

I'm fine now. Thanks. Just been to swap the 'folded' duvet cover with the one I was able to open fully, to make sure they dry properly.
I've got a feeling January is going to be a busy month...

  • They did the pots and the started the sock box, but have gone shopping now for football boots for DS as he had curled toes today at footie practice! He has a match tomorrow so needs must unfortunately, but he's going into adult size now (size 6) so it could be costly.

Flying wise the tree is down, the decs are away, just need to dust and hoover the room - Gawd it looks bare, really miss my tree lights when they are put away.

Will make a quick turkey curry and switch Wm and TD stuff and grab a shower before I leave for work at 4.30.

Bathroom? Pah! Tomorrow is another day ;-D
