We were due an ESA payment on 8th Jan, we had a strange unexpected half payment on 31st Dec and not had the other half yet. Don't know if I can bear being on hold for hours listening to Vivaldi's Four Seasons to find out what is going on. can anyone else shed some light on this. Surely we should have been informed of any changes?0

Had unexplained half a payment of JSA on 27 dec. (normal payment date 4th) expected to get other half on 4th Jan. I received nothing on this date phoned DWP who said that I was owed the payment and would put in bank account via faster transfer on the 4th. Nothing arrived phoned again on Monday 7th they denied all knowledge off saying they would make a payment and said "we can't do faster payments who told you that? " Still waiting!!!Sealed pot challenge member 4370

What a load of rubbish they told you:mad: I have had 6 fast payments, I phone at 8am and its in the bank by 1pm and I will most likely have to do it again on Tuesday0 -
If we get one weeks payment (glitch) then one weeks payment on normal paydate, but then get paid as usual, doesn't that mean one weeks money (8th) for two weeks (until the 22nd)??0

It all works out and is up to individuals if they keep the one week money paid in Dec and don't touch it until normal payday. If people spend that payment then yes, they have to live on one weeks money for the two weeks. They've still had the two weeks payment though.0 -

My partner just rang the esa line and the payment i recived is a weeks payment early and i am expected to recive another weeks payment on my normal pay date so instead of getting my normal ammount of money for the 2 weeks they have paid it weekly instead for some odd reason :S but they told my partner on the phone that its a weeks payment now and then another one next week on my original payment date hope this helps
I too had the one week unexpected ESA payment...I had assumed it was to get the fortnightly payment schedule in sync with the weeks in the new year.
But today I got another one week payment. This would fit in with what you say wolf1978.
So do we get them weekly from now on or will they now revert to fortnightly?0 -

By the sound of things, we get the second payment with the other half of the money and then have to wait another 2 weeks for anything, which has kinda !!!!!!ed me up0 -
I have been in the same boat, receiving an odd one week payment last week, when I should have received my fortnightly payment yesterday, yet yesterday I received the second weeks money minus £4...the amount has only shown on my statement today so I'm worried again and can't ring the egits until Monday, when no doubt I'll get the 'I don't know' standard response.....I get really frustrated with them doing this!0
