Unfortunately got to get the car looked at tonight cos the brakes are grinding and mot stated they may need replacing. But won't be a spend till after work is completed so will tie that in with food shop.

Hey all hope everyone is well and doing ok with the challenge. Not been on in a few days. I was sent out to do the food shopping and actually came back with everything on the list, nothing more and nothing less:j
Its been 13 days since i failed my specials medical - I was given a target to lose 12lbs (5.5kg) ive actually lost 15lbs already (7kg) so in the 13 days I have gone from strength to strength. I am very pleased with this as it means ive dropped a stone in weight already. Had a PT training session on Saturday and he is giving me the motivation I need as is the date to lose it by. Ive been set another target by him to reduce my weight even further which if i stick to it as I have been doing I should have no problems.
Looking forward to reading the rules for February challenge NSK - although, I think i may still stick to plodding through at my own pace that is dependent on the rules.
  • Hello Debt-busters

Checking in after a little absence: a couple more NSD under my belt (I keep loosing track of what I've declared on here but the sig is up to date) only a couple more to target, although that total includes food/fuel exemption days too.

I had my weekly "I don't want to work my way out of debt" wobble on Saturday. Just the inner three year old stamping it's feet and demanding take away. The usual. So a pint in the pub out of my social budget, and then lovely DB bought curry for dinner. Just enough left over for lunch for me today too!

And a (more than a) little victory - since I've changed the APR on one of my CCs I thought I'd check my Debt Free Date. I've only gone a lost 3 months on it :T:T Very pleased

  • Oh, I should also say gone over on my food budget, a tiny tiny bit. But I am under on my social budget so I am still OK right?!

Making 155/Find 25 not going so well. But there may be a eBay miracle yet! (There won't be, but you know a girl can hope!)

  • Oh those kitties are gorgeous. My little dog does cost me money but he brings me so much happiness. I would rather walk him than go to the pub these days. Sad I know!

So we are nearly at the end of January and everyone sounds fairly upbeat. Should we have a bit of a collective pat on the back. Or is it too early to do that? I suppose something may go wrong or break down between now and the 31st, maybe its tempting fate.

I actually thing Feb is going to be quite a tough month for me. After being so frugal in Jan I think its going to be quite hard to keep it going. Its kind of fun seeing how little you can spend for a month but keeping it going long term is another matter. For me there is half term, a visit from family and a couple of birthdays in Feb too.

Ah well. I am going to do my first Feb food shopping tomorrow as I cant get to the supermarket any other day this week. Instead of rushing to the corner shop I am using stuff I already have for tonights tea which I am rather pleased about!

Kerri - I'm a dog person but those furry balls looked gorgeous.

Today was another NSD - well I think it was - I didn't buy anything but did have to pay the recorded delivery postage for my ppi claim and some stamps for my tax claim on union fees so perhaps not. Now that I have taken the plunge and posted these does anyone have any idea how long you have to wait for a response? I'm mentally subtracting it off my debt mountin and will eb so gutted if it comes to nothing!

Lunch today was soup cooked yesterday whilst tea is left overs from yesterday - spot the theme?

Take care everyone - we're crawling over the finishing line together. Will a link to February's thread be posted here?

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Evening,

Just a quick update, been really busy at work and not had time to catch up over the weekend.

3 NSDs to report. Hubby did ok with the shopping on his own - £68, which was more than I'd expected but he did buy some wine and tuna steaks which weren't on the list.

Plenty of overtime over the weekend, not sure though if they'll pay me or give me time in lieu.
Catch up with you all later x
